So we were visiting my cousins in Pennsylvania over the weekend and my DH was quite the intactivist.
We were at a party on Friday night and there were some college-aged guys there. DH was enjoying a few beers with them and I guess the subject of tattoos and piercings came up. Anyway, DH says, "the only place I've been modified is that I was circumcised." Of course, this caught my attention and I looked over at this point. The reaction of these kids was pretty amusing. They were both really shocked to hear my DH say this and at the same time, kind of impressed. I think they had never given the subject a moment's thought in their lives, especially in the same sentence as the word 'modified'. DH then went on to talk about, in the most perfectly casual "guy way", how he's pissed that "part of his dick was cut off" (sorry, no other way to say it!
) and how it sure would be nice to have those sensitive nerve cells back. And guess what? These guys were all really intrigued and impressed by the concept, in a "Yeah, wait a minute. What's up with that?!" sort of way. I think he really made them think, even if only for a few moments.
On the drive home Sunday, we were so excited talking about how he may have planted a seed that could save a baby boy from circ in a few years.
I am so proud of my DH!
