Anyone else have a hot newborn?

He's 10 days old and always hot and sometimes sweaty. We do live in the desert and the house doesn't ever get really cold, but I'm a little worried. I read that newborns don't regulate their body temps until around 1 month old so they're always cold but my baby is hot. It doesn't help that I'm hot too, so when I'm nursing or holding him, we're both sweating like crazy. Is this going to damage him? LOL I know that sounds crazy, but I'm worried. I've been googling and not finding anything. Probably cause it's such a silly concern, right?

He's also got a bit of jaundice so our doctor told me to put him in front of a sunny window which I did today, until he started getting too hot.

My son was the same way. We just kinda went with the flow, even though it meant going against the cultural desire to swaddle the heck out of him. In almost all of his newborn pics we have a barbarian babe in nothing but a diaper and an uncovered head.

We talked to a nurse today and I guess it's okay. Still hard not to worry though!

DS is warm and sweaty a lot. I took his temperature a couple times out of curiosity and it was normal range, about 97-98, each time.

Ours gets quite warm in the afternoons, as well. I think all that holding and breastfeeding against my warm body... I've been sponging him off with cool (not cold) water and that seems to help. I'm also trying to hold him less during the really hot part of the day--he and I are hanging out on the floor in front of the fan right now, and seems more comfortable.
