Trauma

Is there any counseling available to grown men who have been circumcised to deal with the early trauma they went through? Or even a book someone could recommend?

I watched, "Birth as We Know it" last night and was so sad for my poor DH.

His birth was during the era of "Knock them out drag them out," he wasn't breastfed, he was circumcised and left in the nursery for days with occassional contact from his mother (bc she was recovering from all of the drugs she was given).

Has he looked into foreskin restoration? There are some websites in the sticky above. Many men find foreskin restoration to be very healing, emotionally as well as physically.

Is he actually suffering from trauma, or do you feel like he should be traumatized from what he went through?

Mnay men find the groups involved in restoration to be very helpful. And there are plenty of sites to validate his feelings if he feels the need. All he has to do is spend some time on the internet. Let him know he is frre to pm me if he wants some suggestions of places to visit.
