linea nigra...

i am 13w5d and just a couple of days ago i noticed that i had a very clear linea nigra developing. for some reason i thought they didn't show up until much later in pregnancy AND i'm not even showing yet!!!

it's fairly dark below my navel, but does continue way over my navel. i googled it and there's an old wive's tale that says if it goes that high, it's a boy!

anyone else have this lovely stripe yet??

No, and I'm surprised. I always have a faint one and it showed up early with my first pregnancy (which was a girl). Maybe the second time it isn't as obvious because it never fully went away? Either way I think it's cute!

of course, having not heard the heartbeat yet (that's tomorrow!), not showing yet, wearing pants that were too small BEFORE the bfp....any pregnancy symptom that doesn't involve vomit is WONDERFUL to me!!

I LOVE mine and was positively thrilled to see it returning before 12 weeks. It's not super-dark yet, but it's definitely there and I didn't notice much of a lingering stripe bfore I got pg this time, since there are 16 years between my two youngst kids.

Mine doesn't go over my naval (yet) but I'm pretty sure it did when I was carrying my son and don't really remember with my daughters. I did Shettles (Shettles Light, actually, since I'm 42 years old and this bean was conceived by AI so I didn't want to completely ruin my chances of ever having any baby) for a girl and now I just need to let it go for at least the next six months.

Okay, so, I have a funny (at my expense) story:

In the mornings, I wear bike shorts. So comfy. But to go out in public, I switch to cargo pants or jeans.

This morning, I shucked off the shorts, looked in the bathroom mirror, and freaked out. Linea nigra, already?!!

Then I realized that no, I'm just getting fat and the seam from my bike shorts had made a line from belly button to the panty line.
