Gaming systems for young children - Page 2

We have a Wii and love it, but the Gamecube would probably work fine for what you want to do. You can get wireless controllers which are a nice feature. Also, all Gamecube games work on the Wii just in case you want to upgrade in the future.

My girls have a lot of fun with Leapster that they got as a gift to use on airplane rides. However, if I had a choice, I'd prefer a wii. The controls are easier and the play is more active and collaborative.

Not that we're getting any of this with our budget, but I'm curious--which of these systems have educational games at the 1st-2nd level? Just the Leapster/Vsmile, or do Nintendos and Wiis do learning type games, too?

Thanks!

If you have an extra computer in your home or can get a cheap one second hand, you could just get computer software. We have several Pajama Sam CDs, Mathblaster (which we all like to play...) and some other reading games. Those might be a good solution as well.
