Reader's Digest's Back to Basics--book rec

Has anyone else read this book? If you haven't, I highly, HIGHLY recommend it. It tells you how to do all the things we've forgotten, basically a condensed version of all those great Mother Earth News articles (in their old mags, like from the 80s). How to homestead. How to use wind/solar/etc energy. How to make moccasins. How to dowse for water. How to raise livestock, keep bees, live off the grid properly, etc etc etc. I can't recommend it enough.

Anyway, I just wanted to throw it out there, let people know it exists!

You have to buy it used, though. We got one on half.com for about $6 with the shipping.

DP is waiting for the Great Economic Apocalypse. Too bad B2B doesn't tell you how to tan hides. Oh well. I guess I'll have time, hopefully before society collapses!

We had that book when I was growing up and it has since been lost. I have been trying to find one at a yard sale or used book store for ages. I seem to remember an interesting (for a youth) section about skinning and dressing out animal carcasses.
