People, I need some book recommendations. I have been reading HP for 2 months straight, and I need some help to stop the insanity. I'll read almost anything!

Read American Gods, Neverwhere and Stardust by Neil Gaiman.

I thoroughly enjoyed them, and they made a pleasant change from Harry Potter.

I love Phil Rickman

He writes mystery/suspense with a supernatural element. The kind of books you can "move into" for a while.

He has a series of stand-alone suspense novels and a series featuring the Rev. Merrily Watkins.

A lot of the characters in the stand-alone books show up in subsequent books so there is a feeling of continuity.

Or you could start the Merrily Watkins series if you like.

I'm reading Katharine Kerr's Deverry series (first book: Daggarspell). It's fantasy, but with past lives and astral planes and stuff.

This sounds like something I'd be really interested in! Thanks.

Thanks for all the great suggestions, everyone. I was initially interested in the Twilight series, but they are all checked out at the local libraries. Maybe I can get to them soon1

I agree. This is a excellent series. It captures so many emotions and has amazing characters like HP.
