Wet at Wipe- (tcoyf pg. 62) Q.

So, way TMI, but it's an honest question

For the past couple days, after having my daily bowel movement it's been a fairly "wet wipe". IMO, though, this isn't fertile quality CM. It doesn't stretch in the least and while a little milky isn't very substancial.

In your opinion, would this be pre-fertile CM just "gearing up" or an early sign of fertile CM?

What are your experiences. I'm on CD 20. Last cycle I had fertile CM for only one day on CD 31 of a 47 day cycle (par for the course for me).

ETA: I'm going to note it as w@w and see how it relates to my cycles.

I think wet is probably a little fertile but just not the real thing. If it doesn't stretch at all I would not mark it as fertile. However, if you only have one day of EW I would use the wet days also..

not everyone gets the eggwhite stretchy mucus.

I would say you are fertile - I know the feeling you are describing all too well. Usually I do have some eggwhitey mucus to go along with it though.

Are you checking outside your vagina or inside at the cervix? I have found that it is easier to tell what is going on checking at my cervix, I catch the eggwhite mucus more accurately.

Are you also checking cervical postion? this can tell you alot about where you are in your fertility cycle.

While you are not fertile, everything is on the drier side. Production of mucus itself means your fertility is gearing up and your body is preping for ovulation. Just realize that some women ovulate with just creamy mucus, while others get the eggwhite mucus - I usually get eggwhite, but some months if I am really stressed or DS has been sick and nursed ALOT more - then I only get creamy - but I still am ovulating.

How long have you been charting? Do you have the Ovusoft program or are you using the charts from the book? I would say just record it on your chart as eggwhite (this may be YOUR version of eggwhite mucus) and make a little note at the bottom or back of your chart, or in the notes section of the program. you have CP, CM, and temp to help put it all together at the end - which will give you a much clearer picture of your cycle.

ALso, for the first few months I was learning to chart - I used some cheapy OPKs. To "confirm" what I was seeing on my chart as far as when I ovulated. It took a few cycles for me to know what my unique fertility signs are - but now it is so easy to predict when I am fertile. I don't even need to temp anymore and rarely even check CP.

have you visited www.ovusoft.com yet?
That was a HUGE resource for me when I was learning FAM and TTC, in addition to here of course. This website is devoted to the TCOYF book and the FAM method. Everyone is so friendly and knowledgable about this topic - and are awesome at helping you read your chart. A bit more "mainstream" but helpful non-the-less.

When I conceived #2 and then #3 I had the egg white, really gloopy stuff one time (#2) and another (#3) just really WET undies. (Not pee!) So it can be either.
