"Shut up and Sing" Dixie Chicks Documentary

Has anyone seen the Dixie Chicks documentary DVD called Shut Up and Sing? I watched it over the weekend and though it was great. It's about the contraversy that came after the lead singer made the comment she was embarassed that Bush was from Texas.

I always liked their music when I heard it on the radio, but after seeing the DVD I was so impressed with them as women, moms and as a group. The support they had for eachother was so genuine; a real sisterhood.

Even if you are not a Dixie Chick fan I highly recomend the DVD.

And how interesting that now the majority (I'm assuming) of Amercans are embarrased that Bush is from America!

I would be interested in seeing that doc.

I watched it awhile ago, after I heard that one of my favorite radio talk hosts (Stephanie Miller) introduced it at the opening in LA a few months back. I thought it was outstanding; highly recommend it.

It's very interesting to see how people reacted back then - it feels like such a different "time" now. I thought it was a great documentary, and would also recommend it.

I saw it this week and LOVED IT. It was only just on at the cinema here and I managed to make it on the closing night. I was disappointed that I hadn't seen it earlier because I wanted to tell all my friends to go and see it.

I guess that means it's been released in the US on DVD? Hopefully that means we'll get a release in Australia too.

And, ftr, I was not a Dixie Chicks fan before but I am now

I love the Dixie Chicks, while I am not a big fan of modern country, in fact I despise most of it, Im more into Hank, Merle, Willie, etc... there is just something about the Dixie Chicks! Then when they came out against Bush I almost peed my pants with joy!

It was a reference in the movie. Apparently the Chicks have an issue with Toby Keith and made up t-shirts bedazzled with the letters "FUTK". I thought this was the funniest part of the movie.

Can you figure out what it meant?
