breastfeeding with thyroid disorder?

Hi

I was wondering if anyone on here is bfing with a thyroid disorder? My son is almost four months old and was born three months early. I was never able to establish a full supply and I've tried everything- every herb, constant pumping, reglan and domperidone. My LC finally suggested that I have my thyroid levels checked- I'm going to do this later today. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and how things went/are going??

Thanks!

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism a few months before dd4 was conceived . I started ovulating more regularly after starting synthroid and got pg quite easily. Now I'm 4 months post-partum and I have a greater amt of milk this time than I did with the previous three. I don't think all of that is due to having the hormone replaced, but it did help. I take the synthroid dly on an empty stomach.

I am hypothyroid diagnosed about 10 years ago. I have been on synthroid since then. My levels were monitored every few weeks during my pregnancy and several times pp. Pregnancy can throw your thyroid off so it makes sense to get it checked. Although it took a while for my milk to come in I was able to bf my twins but I did supplement some for various reasons.
