What was your limit on the # of IUIs before you moved to IVF?

How many IUIs did it take to get pregnant?

We did 2 iui's with clomid and 6 iui's with gonal. I'm waiting for my ivf consult and will hopefully start late next month.

My RE suggests 4 iui w/injects cycles before moving on unless there are reasons why iui just wouldn't work. I did 6 b/c I'm stubborn and b/c I had a lap and I was hoping that that would be the answer to our problems.

I'm so glad you asked this question! I can't wait to see what others have to say. I'm at the beginning for my 3rd IUI cycle and my doctor is kind of encouraging me to move right to IVF after this.

I am starting my 4th IUI cycle. My dh and I did 3, took a few months break (summer vacation ) and I had a consult with my re. We decided to do 3 more IUIs, with increasing my meds--100mgs of clomid and double doses of FSH. Hopefully, this will do the trick. If this doesn't, we will re-eval. Dh and I have pretty much decided that we will do 1-2 IVF's and then probably call it at that point and go on from there.

Hi. I did 2 IUIs with the 2nd in conjunction with injectables, which was my lucky cycle.

I got pregnant on our 2nd cycle of 100mgs clomid + IUI. My RE's protocol is 3 cycles of Clomid + IUI and then injectables. I'm not sure how many cycles of injectables I would have been willing to do. The cost is pretty low for me so it may have been more than three.

We are doing our first IUI in september (with injectibles). since they are $1000--we have set our limit on 2-3. Our doctor said the max he would do on us is 6.

7 IUIs with 200mg Clomid and frozen donor sperm. The last cycle I had 2 IUIs, at 24 hrs and 36hrs post trigger injection. It worked.
