Clomid and endometrium

I'm starting my third IUI cycle today. I'm going to pick up my Clomid prescription later, but it seems so pointless to me. I'm producing tons of large follicles while on it, but my endometrium is thin. My periods are light, clotty and short. It doesn't seem like it is a uterine lining that could support a baby. I asked my re about an IUI cycle without Clomid, but he discouraged it because statistically the odds are so bad. What would you do? Does anyone else have this problem with Clomid?

Also is there anything I can do to counter the anti-estrogen effects of Clomid? Anything that would support lining health/thickness?

First off, this is YOUR body and YOUR choice. If you want to do a cycle without the clomid, insist!
Do you have trouble ovulating on your own? That might play into the decision if I were you.
Anyway, a few things I've read/heard about to increase endometrium are wild yam and evening primrose oil (this one has had only a minor effect for me). Acupuncture does wonderful things for my endometrium - is it an option for you? I really didn't think it would do much for me, but it has lengthened my menses and made the bleeding a bit heavier.
I hope it all works out.

First, I would ask the re the questions you have. More than likely, he'll want you to take clomid (it's standard op). I'm sure he has his reasons, but ask him your questions anyway. Secondly, in order to thicken the lining, they usually give you something like follistim (it's an intramuscular shot). For me and the IUI's I had done, the combo worked wonders and I was able to conceive and carry my dd and ds to term! Good luck!
