Another thrift store Q

I was at the thrift store today and saw an old infant seat. I looked for an expiration date. It said 2010. It looked very old. It was only a 3-pt harness and had those pastel colors from the early 1990's. It did not have a base. Did they used to have much longer expiration times? I told the manager that it looked far too old to sell but he said that as long as it is not expired, they will try to sell it. Luckily, it was filthy, so I doubt anyone would buy it. But now I am curious about the date.

3 point seats are still being manufactured. So it's entirely possible it's not expired. 5 points are preferred of course.

YOu can also get a low end seat without a base for about $40 new so its very possible that is what you seen.
