My strangest preg request yet...

I just caught myself yelling at my DH...half joking/half NOT

"DONT COME HOME WITHOUT A TOILET SEAT!!!"

We had some guests over last week, and I've been trying to find the source of this stink in the downstairs bathroom. Seriously, bad cat p*ss. Only we dont have a cat. I've scrubbed every surface - walls, floor, sink, cabinets, shower, all on my hand and knees, often with a toothbrush (oh, how good that did feel!) a few times, got rid of every magazine thinking DS missed somehow (although he is soooo anal about his aim and will tell me if he dribbled a bit ) Even DH smells it. So I know its not in my head.

So, anyhoo, I think one of our friends son had some aim issues and pee'd right where the toilet seat attaches to the bowl. Right in the hole and on the screws. There is a bit of funk that I can see, but I cant clean it (believe me and a box of Q-tips, I've tried...it just isnt coming off.)

I'm done with this smell. If he doesn't come home with a toilet seat (his first stop is a lottery ticket : ) I'm going to be sooo pissed.

Is that such a bad request??

Not a bad request at all. Heck, I'd be asking for some spray disinfectant too.

That's hilarious!!!

I watched my friend's boys this morning and her little boy peed all over my toilet seat and the floor!!! To have boys....

Not in your ddc, but this has to be the weirdest request yet. I hope he remembers.

Eeew! Penis pee'ers are disgusting! I hope you get your new toilet seat!
That sounds like a completely reasonable request to me! I hope that he comes home with that new toilet seat ASAP! Your poor nose!

That's funny! But you know, you can just unscrew the seat that's there and clean the screws in the sink and soak the seat in bleach in the tub....

That said, if you are having a boy get used to. My darn bathroom always smells like pee!!!! And I clean it all the time!!!!

My DH and BIL were both taught to sit by their mother. They both still sit to pee and I like the idea of that with this little one. Standing will be for public restrooms only.

lol we had our ds sit to pee for a long time....until several times he sat and forgot to point it down....and peed all over the bathroom rug and the floor and out into the hallway!

Guess who has a new seat in her bathroom!?!?

ME!

The old one was nasty anyways, it was the only one we didnt change when we moved in...it was on our list to do eventually - the pee incident just pushed me over the edge. I did give it an honest try to clean it - taking it off and everything, but, it was to stinky. And it was stained in some spots from god knows what.

I just don't understand how a dad can let his son have such awful aim!! I overheard a conversation with DS and DH this morning, obviously fallout from the late night toilet seat run - "and make sure you hold him like this, and really try to aim at the water like a fire-hose. There you go little firefighter, good job!!"

I'm glad I'm not the only one that asked for a new toilet seat! LOL
We had one upstairs that was constantly shifting and with my girth and lack of balance, I knew it was just a matter of time before I fell off the toilet (plus it was one of those horrible plastic padded ones....shudder....). So dh went and got one of the seats that easily removed for cleaning. You twist the tabs on top and it pops off. I loved it so much he replaced the other ones too.

OMG, was I just declaring my love for a TOILET SEAT???

Yay for new toilet seats!! We need a new one in our bathroom too, but not for stink reasons.

What worries me is why this man's urine is SO nasty! I mean, what is going on inside his body that he smells THAT bad?!
we had to do that in our powder rm... (remember I have ALL boys who have LOTS of little peeing friends..) DH had to actually reseat the WHOLE toilet and get a new gasket etc to un pee stink the bathroom... I made HIM do it since I was not party to the peeing (as well as him being responsible for the donor Y chromosome too!)

*takes notes* I didn't think about that!

It is funny- I recall once telling my co-worker that you KNOW you are a homeowner when you get excited about a new toilet seat. This is off-topic but it is TRUE- I used to spend my money on shoes and pocketbooks and yoga mats and stuff. Now I get excited about a new toilet seat or a new towel bar.

You guys are scaring me. I hadn't thought much about little boy pee! Ugh! I hate dirty bathrooms!

I grew up in a family of three girls. Dad was the only male, and I think he sat down to pee. Now, my husband is the only male (and he only had three sisters, no brothers), and we have two daughters. He sits down to pee at our house. His parents taught him that way until he was old enough to want to learn to stand in public restrooms, but he still sat at home.

It's not awful to teach a boy to sit at home, is it? Will it still be messy? Ugh.

I taught all my kids to sit at home and now at 6, 9 and 12, they stand but are USUALLY very clean. They lift the seat, flush, and aim well. Once in a while someone gets lazy and mama gets mad!

And yes, DO teach them to point it down because I think each one of my kids has more than once peed out onto the floor and/or wall from BETWEEN the lowered seat and toilet bowl. They just happened to be sitting there and their penis was pointing at the gap between the two when peeing and it sprayed out. So even if it's below the seat, I tell them to be sure it's pointing downward!

LOL! I'm glad he brought you home a new seat!
