I read that, it was very interesting. Especially about the obesity factor

IMO, if more obese women were given the option of having a vaginal birth (or more obese women DEMANDED vaginal birth) the maternal mortality rate would go down. Surgery on an obese woman is more risky, period. Unfortunately, too many doctors have serious fat phobia and fat issues.

Remember the Mothers

It's about time this has been in mainstream news... I recently heard Ina May lecture on the topic, and it was very enlightening and quite disturbing.

Finally, The truth is made public. I saw Ina may May 2005 and she was giving us future insight on this matter. I wonder how many women will listen. I have a friend who is 19+3 with number 3. She is a gravida 12, yes 12, but she has had 9 losses after 12 weeks. This dc was IVF,PGD. Originally a twin pregnancy. She loss dc#2 after 10 weeks. Her first two were cs's, But after five years I thought she may decide to have a Vbac. I mentioned it and she won't hear a thing of it. she had a hernia operation 2 years ago and she feels that it is not worth to even try laboring. I really hope she reads this article.
