Help please!! My son ( 9 weeks old),has been breastfeeding since 5 weeks old had been BF fine, now all of a sudden the last 2 days, he seems to be having a FIT while nursing! He'll suck for a few seconds, then clutch madly w/ his tiny hands at my breast, scream and squeeze & paw at my breast,gasping...I had thought he wasn't getting milk but there is milk all over/in hs mouth. Could he be geting too much,or too fast? My breasts don't feel engored. Any ideas?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I would immediately contact your local LLL chapter for help/advice. If you're not sure who to call, google La Leche League and you should find local assistance.

My baby does that too.
My DS 3 months old does that too. And one thing I found that wasn't in the kellymoms website was when he has to go potty. If he has to poop especially he wants me to put him down then he'll do his business I'll change him and then we'll start nursing again. It only started at about 8 wks and it took me a couple of times to figure it out. I know how frustrating it can be when you just want to do something really nice for your baby (by nursing them) and they look so angry and mad at you.

Possible GERD?
I read this and had to reply because I am dealing with the exact same thing. My DS is also 9 weeks old, and the sudden fussiness at the breast (we are talking screaming) has been going on now for about 10 days-2 weeks. We went to the the pedi and he said he could have reflux (he was also born 4 weeks early). I have been wanting to post to see if anyone else has dealt with reflux and what has worked? Could reflux be a problem for you? I started pumping after attempted unsuccessful feedings and then will give him a bottle (which he will take fine), but after some research have found that maybe I should stop doing that. Anyway, I just thought I would mention GERD, maybe that's a possiblity with the fussiness. It can come on at anytime, especially if your baby was at all premature.Anybody else with info on fussiness at the breast or BF'ing with GERD would be appreciated! I have read Kellymom, and will try some different positions.
Hope things get better for you!
