I know this was posted a while ago, but now that I've been with Suite longer, I wanted to comment. I'm kind of surprised at the different articles that are doing well there. Seasonal articles seem to really do well. My highest viewed article right now is about Christmas decorating on a budget, which has a few hundred views a week. My tech article is still doing well, but other things seem to be leveling out too, so I don't want to leave everyone with the impression that it is just tech articles that do well.

Finally got my first article submitted to Suite. Hasn't published yet.

Very impressed with the tips it gives you immediately to improve your article. Pretty cool.

I finally have a tiny complaint though. I don't like how small the title field is. I've been having a hard time lately getting a title that has the right key words in it to fit in there. It only takes 34 characters and that includes any spaces between words. As complaints go, that is one I can live with though- lol.

Yes 34 characters is hard. I'm glad that they combine the title & subtitle for the page name but it was hard for me to get the title set for the first one.

I have uploaded my first article but it is in draft mode until someone can review it. It's been several days; I couldn't find anything on the site that stated how long it takes for your first article to be published.

I'm still waiting for my 1st article to be edited - does anyone know how long it usually takes? I'm not very patient by nature.

my first was looked at on the same day. i was sent an email that it had been flagged and that I was to edit the keywords (gave me pointers on what i needed to do). i edited it and it went up immediately. very fast turn around.

My second article did not require the manager to preview it. it published immediately and I have not received any emails that I needed to edit anything further.

Thanks Jenny. I just received an email that since it was my first submission I had to wait for an editor to review it then I'd hear confirmation back - haven't heard a word. After that I was told the remaining articles will publish immediately.

Okay I'm a bit irritated, I heard back and my story just got blasted. I'm OK with constructive criticism but I was told that my article lacked authority and was too off the top of my head. The article is 5 tips to surviving the holiday season with an autistic child. I am a mother of TWO autistic children...I'd consider myself somewhat of an authority on the topic. Of course we can't write in the first person so I can't lend my personal authority to the topic. I also need to figure out how to get a better title with their restrictive length - I'm sure that's something that I'll get better with over time.

I'm a bit PMSy as well so I think I'm just going to step away and revisit this article next week or perhaps just try something else.

I would absolutely love some input. I just reread it and it does sound a bit rambl-y but in reading other articles with similar themes there is no authoritative body being quoted or referenced so I'm not really sure how I am going to work that aspect in to the writing.

I hope TCB can help you out. That's frustrating I am sure. It may just be a bit of a learning process and you'll catch on two Suite. Suite is much more selective in what they publish. As much as it might sting a bit, give yourself some credit both as a person starting out on web-writing, and as a person who is new to a site that has fairly high standards for what it publishes compared to other sites. Remind yourself that they accepted you as a writer with your two submissions. They obviously see your potential! Use the editors to help teach you. I am sure we will all learn a lot about writing and find greater improvement.

YES! I absolutely agree with Eviesmom. They don't accept everyone, so you have every right to feel proud that they chose you! Definitely use them to learn from.

I'll take one of those cookies please! LOL

Since I had my review after 10 articles, I've been really trying to put their tips into practice. They said if I did, I would see a jump in page views and I definitely have seen that jump.
