Seriously Painful Letdown

Does anyone know if there's a way to help with painful letdown? I am sure that I don't have any infections or anything else causing pain. I only feel pain when I get letdown and it only lasts a few minutes each time. I have had serious problems with oversupply and an overactive letdown with previous children and although I'm working hard to not have those problems again, I'm pretty sure that is the cause of my painful letdown. The pain is really awful and I feel it all the way up my shoulders and in my back. It is worse than contractions during labor and almost as bad as when the baby is crowning! My baby is only 2 1/2 weeks but I remember this lasting up until 6 months with my twins and I think it is worse this time.

I've certainly heard of other moms having this problem, espeically with oversupply/forceful letdowns... I just can't remember how they dealt with it! I'm trying to bump this up to see if anyone else can help. Here's the link from kellymom for oversupply: http://www.kellymom.com/bf/supply/fast-letdown.html

I don't really have any advice to give, just
I know how you feel. My letdiwn was pretty painful for a while (though not as painful as contractions), and has gotten much, much better with time, as my milk supply adjusted and lessened a bit. I'd say the fist 6 weeks were the most painful. Now, at 14 weeks, no pain at all
Hang in there, hopefully you'll feel relief soon.
