Bento box for school lunch? - Page 2

We have a laptop lunchbox and got it from reusable bags.com. (I don't know what version others have gotten, but I think ours was $22). My son (2.5) LOVES to pack it up and pick what foods go into what containers. He's not a PB&J (or really any kind of sandwich) kind of kid though, so this kind of lunch is perfect for him - little boxes filled with meats, cheeses, fruits and veggies.

It IS kind of hard for him to open, but his preschool teacher can help him with that There are 2 different containers with tops on them for wet things (one is tiny, for dips - one is a lot bigger for yogurts, etc) so a "seal" isn't all that important IMHO. In those without tops we put "dry" things (apples, cheese, meats, etc.

I guess a negative would be that in the box there is no place for a drink, but he only drinks ice water, (no packaged drinks) so I just put a sigg bottle into a NY built insulated bottle holder and attach that to his backpack. (Which he finds way cool)

This link was just posted on the Natural home and body care group. It's for stainless steel food containers. They look really good and not all that expensive.

Although I have not really tried anything else, I love our laptop lunches! DD only uses it when we go places like the zoo etc. She does not want to pack when she goes to pre-school But I use it for work and really like it! The bottle has never leaked for us and I figure I save a LOT when I don't buy my luch at work so the $35 is quickly a return!

i've gone thru two laptop lunches and do not like them. The bottle leaks always. they melt in the dishwasher. the container itself cracked at the joint of it... on both of them. Way over priced, imo. We use an actual kids japanese bento box we got off of ebay often and love it. And tupperware makes a cool "bento" type box
