I started packing

I already had my list of what I wanted to take with us, so I bit the bullet and started tossing some of it into a suitcase today. Hopefully I will be able to do early discharge (6 hrs) and won't stay overnight, but I'm packing for it just in case. I don't want to put our clothes in yet since we'll wear them again before it's time, but I did get a few odds and ends in there so far:

Tennis ball for massage
Stress ball for me to squeeze
Some depends in case the hospital ones are just awful
Several pairs of panties
Nursing gown
Ponytail holders
Various sized outfits for baby (brought only 1 for Pixie and it was HUGE on her!)
Breast pads (more for comfort that for leakage at that point!)

That's all I've got in there so far. DH is freaking out that I'm packing already!!

Anyone else?

Well..homebirther here...but I'm ordering the heavy flow Lunapads today, and I'll probably go ahead and order the Birth Kit with a few added supplies. I spent a day getting the birth plan stuff all answered and typed up, and mentally gearing up for assembling everything for the birth. I need to get a container freed up so I can put everything in there. I don't want to get to November 1 with a lot left to do. Homeschooling is going to eat up a lot of my time, so I figure I should do some things in this last week before we start.

Wow! You are so organized! I don't even have a lost written out yet. I figured I'd put bags together by 36 weeks! I guess I'm a huge slacker! You are sooo impressively together!

Um... not that I wish this on anyone but a couple of October babies have made their appearance already... better to be prepared early than to be throwing stuff in a bag while running out the door, like I suspect I will be doing..

Yes, but if any of us go that early, we really won't NEED anything. We can always send our dh's or support person back to the house to get anything we want for our stay at the hospital, but the baby won't be needing anything since they will be in NICU for awhile.

I'm not packing yet, but really, only because I'm not that organized. I'll get it all together around 36-37 weeks.

um...I've got a list written - does that count?

actually, I am gathering up stuff this week to pack, per dh's request just in case I go early.

Wow...you guys are organized! I know what I want to put in there...and I have it all...but I haven't even given any thought about it. I think packing the bag would make me feel like I'm running out of time to get other things done!

I'll likely pack my bag closer to 34 weeks. The hospital is only a few minutes from my house and as long as I have my birth stuff (still together from DD...oddly) I can always have someone bring up the rest later.

I don't wish early birth on anyone here. Hopefully all the babies wait!!!!
