Back from Vacay (pics included!)

We're back from a great vacation to Canada and oh boy, it seems like I have a lot of catching up to do here I've missed you guys!

There are some funny pics! Like pottying in the McDonald's parking lot, the bump on tree and mama pic, etc. But where is the porta potty?! I coulodn't have done all that without one strapped to my back for potty trips every 15 minutes! Wow!

How do you decide where to go on these trips? Hubby and the kids and I like hiking and what-not, but I am never sure where to go and what time of the year.

Looks like my recent trip. I really enjoyed your pictures. My DH, DS(18 mo), and I took 14 people from our youth group on a 3 day canoe/camp trip. What fun. I liked seeing your DS enjoying the trip. My mom freaked out and said my DS was to little. He is not and did fine.

Yeah, a porta-potty would have been nice! It was no problem in the canoe really since I could just pee in a bailing bucket, but let me tell you, the ride in the car (3 days each way!) was a challenge! I felt like we *were* stopping every 15 minutes!

As far as deciding where to go, we usually pick an area where there's something interesting we'd like to see. Or if we're going to be somewhere anyway, we'll extend the trip and add some hiking, paddling etc. We had to go to Moab, UT for a wedding a few years ago and ended up going canyoneering for a week in souther UT before we went to the wedding. Another example... we read about these cypress swamps on Maryland's Eastern Shore (farthest north bald cypress swamps in the US -kinda cool) and decided we'd like to see them...that was the Eastern Shore trip you might have seen on our website. We like to make the trip a "destination trip" and see what other fun stuff we can hit along the way. On that trip we found an active archaeological dig and "frontier town" to visit.
