we got back from our vacation late last night and after 18 hours of driving and delayed fights, baby and i are totally wasted -- poor little one seems so sensitive to changes in the daily routine, as a rule, and yesterday was no different. s/he was up and about ALL day til around 3:30am when i got home last night, and has been super quiet all day today -- i get little reassuring wriggles here and there but s/he's a very active baby normally so this is odd and i can only assume s/he's recuperating from our adventures. i'm amazed by how, uh, baby-like s/he is in this way!
anyway, since i am also feeling less than spectacular i thought today would be a good day to tackle my registries, since my sisters and mom want them done so they can send out shower invites. i thought this would be an easy thing to cross off the to-do list while just sitting on the computer all day.
but if my head wasn't spinning before, it is now! we don't want a lot of STUFF and it's very important to us that we don't raise our child around a lot of unnecessary products. plus we are cosleeping so we don't need a crib or crib accessories or anything like that, and i have enough experience nannying that i know i personally will never use, say, a changing table. buuttttt we have big families that will want ideas for gifts and i'd rather not get a bunch of TOTALLY useless things, so i've spent all day trying to figure out what will actually get used and only registering for those things. we are doing one more mainstream target registry and one myregistry.com with "crunchy" and interesting items for our more crunchy/artsy and internet-savvy friends.
my big question is whether i need to register for things like, you know, onesies and sleepers and things like that. what about receiving blankets? are these things people will get us without us actually registering?? or do i need to give peeps an idea of what we actually want in that regard too? shsgjsghsgsh. it's amazing how many hours can just get eaten away by projects like this.

: , boppy with covers and sheets etc,

: but also parental units like to buy those bigger items). but even with our wedding registry i had tons and tons of reasonably priced stuff on there too, probably because the concept of a registry in general makes me super uncomfortable. actually, my non-target registry is all stuff under $30 except for 1 item (a diaper bag), and a good portion of the target registry is under $30 too.
