Welcome to MDC!

Do you really need to boost your post count? I am always lurking, but that's not because I don't want to post. It's just the time factor. See, it's now quite late and I'm spending my time boosting my posts .

Happy LABOR day.

Gee, this works. I have insomnia for some crazy reason. Since I can't sleep, I will boost my count!!! Woohoo!!!

My prince and I were married this past June 16th in a fairy tale wedding that I have dreamed of all my life. He was my best friend when I was in high school 25 years ago. We lost touch for 24 years until he found me on reunion.com this past January. It was so awesome!!!

I have 3 children from my starter marriage. My Prince has no children, so this little one is very special for him. He did not think he would ever have a child...

I thought I'd better boost my posts since I've been around for 2 years and I'm still called a new member.

Oh, good. I have more posts than you, but I have been around for four years and look like a newbie still :

Oh yeah, and I also have insomnia. It's 5:25am here, and I know some people wake up now. But even at 41 weeks pg I don't go to bed that early and 5am just sucks sometimes. I never seem to catch up.

I hate to be a party pooper, but the 60 day rule still applies, even if the post count hits 50 before then. Sorry!

Hi:

I just tried to post a reply but it didn't go through, so here goes again...

I am the mother of a 3.5 yo daughter and do not plan more children. I am happily married. One of my major goals right now is to learn to speak French. We are planning to send our daughter to French Immersion in 2 years and I want to learn with her. So my goal is to begin French classes by January. There's lots of Acadian heritage here and we want to explore it together. I've always wished I was bilingual and want our daughter to have that chance.

I am a member of the Universalist Unitarian church and believe there are many paths to God. However, I have just discovered an Affirming United Church in our new neighbourhood that I am excited about. I think I'm ready to reexplore my faith.

We have a dog, too, that we came very close to giving up. We even had a new, kid-free home for him but I just couldn't say goodbye. So we took him to a behaviourist and gentle-discipline-type obedience classes. It's been a really hard road but we're still together. I'm hoping to spend some time on the Pet Forum because we definitely still have issues.

We also have a cat. We cloth-diapered. I tried to baby-wear but my daughter would have none of it and ended up being a really early walker. We are not vegetarian but do eat locally and organically (most of the time). I bake our bread and goodies. We delayed vaccinations. We are car-free by choice. We all sleep together. Right now we're trying to find a path towards parenting without punishment; no time-outs, taking privileges away, that sort of thing. We are really enjoying our little girl.

I think that about covers us.

Just thought I'd pop in to say 'Welcome' to everyone here!

My kids love our animals. I have taught them to be gentle with each other, the kids help out with feeding and opening the door to let the dogs in and out. When I brought my first baby home from the hospital, I had two dogs plus FIVE "foster" dogs and four cats. We managed... and I feel that my kids have been enriched by the many animals we've cared for over the years.

What diapering forum are you trying to access? You should be able to get into any of them except maybe FSOT?

Welcome!

Hello!

I've been a member for over a year. I lurk all the time at work but don't feel comfortable logging in there. My 3 year old nursling is less than thrilled when I get on here at home because that means I am not either 1) playing with him or 2) nursing him. So, I don't get to get on at home too much . I am interested in being able to view the WAHM Well forum. I work out of the home now, but am 7 weeks preggo with #2 and hope to find something from home once s/he arrives. Someone pm'd me and directed me here to up my count. Thanks!

We have a great dane and a pitt/boxer mix. We used to have ferrets - the last one died 5 years ago. I hope we will have ferrets again someday if we ever have dogs that are less prey driven. DH hates rodents and hopes to steer DS towards ferrets or reptiles if he ever wants his "own" animal someday (we are well aware that we would most likely have to take care of said animal)

DH is my soulmate. We have been together since our first date - the "senior ball" aka the last dance of our high school career. That was 15 years ago!
