ARGH my head!

I have been having these killer headaches! I know I can take Tylenol but I don' t want to. (even before I was pregnant I tried not to take any pills) I've read in other places that caffeine can help, however I have never been able to handle caffeine, it makes me feel drunk and nauseated. Any other ideas or hints?

Also can having a headache be bad for the baby? Does my body react and produce any type of hormones that could affect him/ her?

Frankly, caffeine is helping me: and especially during pregnancy, I'm caffeine sensitive. I'm having horrendous headaches that paracetamol won't touch, and what's getting me through is strong black unsweetened coffee (ugh!) a cold wheatbag on the neck and one of those cold forehead compresses on my forehead. Feverfew leaves worked for me in other pregnancies, but I'm having difficulty getting any at the moment.
I think I need to ring the homoeopath tomorrow.

I don't know but I am sorry you don't feel well...

Oh my god, I just started having these too! I was so excited about getting out of the first trimester, and now I'm nauseus *again*, and these headaches on top of it!! I'm about to break down and get some tylenol... i was also thinking of cool eye masks, but there are so many aromatherapy scents we need to be cautious about, i'm not sure I could find a safe one.

i know i keep answering this way, but my chiropractor is amazing for headaches. i go about every two weeks, and i haven't been in about 3 and 1/2 and i can so tell. i have to admit that i've taken some tylenol, but i was on my way to celebrate my husbands birthday and didn't want to be a complete, well, you know.

my headaches start around 3:30pm, 4-5 days a week (for the last 2 weeks). NOTHING has helped so far. not caffeine, not tylenol, and sleep makes it worse.

my mw claims it has to do with blood volume increase and eventually (by 20 weeks or so), my body will adjust.

in the meantime, i'm calling the chiropractor! hopefully he can help!

I had bad headaches, and just used Tylenol. I don't like to take pills either, but desperate times call for desperate measures. I don't drink any caffeine at all, and I feel like that's worse than a Tylenol whenever needed. You can get headaches from caffeine, if you don't drink it. I picked what I felt like was the lesser of 2 evils. JMHO

I've been having them the past few weeks too. I didn't ever have headaches with my previous 2 pregnancies. On Saturday, I had the worst one yet... I sat around and tried to sleep all afternoon.

I am worried that the headaches are somehow linked to high blood pressure, which is already starting to creep up for me... That didn't happen with my last baby until about the last 10 weeks.

Ugh! I'm having these headaches too! All day and night I feel horrible and all I can do is just lie there. At least my wonderful husband is taking very good care of me. But I really miss feeling human. :

I'm so happy that I'm not in this alone. Not that I wish pain on you all, but I'm glad to know that I'm not some weird extreme case or anything.

Now shall we talk about yeast infections? (grrrr....)

That really sounds like dehydration. I've been getting headaches a lot lately and I KNOW I am not drinking enough (too much water actually nauseates me).

So I tried drinking coffee yesterday in case it was something to do with the increasing blood volume.... AND IT WORKED!!!!! Let me say a million thank-yous to the poster who suggested that may be the cause. It made all the difference in the world to my comfort and sanity.

I have taken 1/2 dose tylonol 2X this pregnancy because my headache was horrible and long that I was being impatient with ds. Taking just 1/2 really works!!! I also do not genersally use medication, but I have to care for my 3yo and other responsibilities.

Sometimes I will try a cup of egglish breakfast tea too..

Dea--if you have yeast infections I would start taking in a lot of yogurt/fermented foods. (If you can make the yogurt yourself and culture it for 24 hours that is best). You can also load up on probiotic supplements and eat lots of garlic. At night, take the yogurt and insert it internally before going to sleep (wear a pad just in case some comes out). No sugars either. Doing this should make it pass quickly. Keep on the yogurt/probiotics an no sugar and that should keep them away....
