I think the trouble for me is that this baby was a little beyond "unplanned" or "unexpected;" We were actually saving for a vasectomy. : Even in those rare, rare moments when I can think about having another teensy baby and not feel like... UGH, I feel guilty for not being upset agian because of course my husband still is. I mean seriously... when I told him I was pregnant, his response was to *throw up*. : There's one for the baby book.

i love the name Daenerys, very beautiful.

i don't know if dh *throwing up* is the saddest or funniest thing i've heard in awhile. i think it's both. life is *full* of irony. (i think this goes beyond ironic though)

What will be even more ironic is if #4 ends up being the apple of Daddy's eye. Then the story will become even funnier, eventually. That said, someday when we have a surprise #4 I'm quite certain DH's reaction might not be much better than your DH's!! He doesn't want more, but he doesn't want a V and I won't get my tubes tied and I won't take birth control....so uh errors are bound to happen LOL. Good thing we got the big minivan...

So, DH is now even considering Keegan for a boy, which I think would be kinda cool. We never find out the gender, so it might be kind of fun to have a real name to call the baby before he or she is born, like the rest of the world seems to bc they find out the gender. Then again, some of the excitement of waiting on the gender is waiting to see the baby's name, too, so I don't know. Opinions are welcome.

Well, our good news is that my house is now fully central heated and DH is, even as I speak, in the middle of Lush buying me extravagant bath products for my first decadent hot bath No, seriously, I really am that excited. I haven't have a hot bath in a year and two weeks, and there's no shower in this house either.
I'm on a militant campaign to improve breastfeeding provision around here. I'm just getting sick and tired of listening to the way that my local hospital has sabotaged breastfeeding relationships, so they are going to have Baby Friendly Status. They are, they really are. They just don't know it yet.

And, on a personal note, I just posted an article submission to one of the UK parenting mags about pregnancy after loss and our journey- where we are, where we're going to, and the obstacles I've overcome. I hope they take it. If not, my local NCT newsletter will, but only time will tell.

Very cool news! I love Lush - there's a shop in town and it's wonderful to walk past and dream of using all of the lovely bath products. I don't do baths myself, but their soaps are heavenly. One of these days I'll actually purchase some for myself.

I think that I've already disclosed that our names are going to be Charlotte Jane for a girl, and Rory James for a boy. I love the names Charlotte and Rory, they felt so right to me and I was really disappointed that dh didn't even want to consider them. But after awhile of thought he decided that since they were that important to me, it was fine with him, and said that I could name the baby whatever I wished.

Jane and James are family names after my father who died suddenly and unexpectedly the week before Christmas in 2002. It was really devastating. They never really figured out exactly what happened to him so the final decision was "Sudden Cardiac Death." James was my father's name so that's natural for a boy but for a girl, Jane was a name passed down in that side of the family as well, from my great-grandmother to my grandmother to my aunt, and my aunt has no children so it stopped there.

If we have a boy he'll be Banyan Phoenix - a name we've had picked out for quite a while. With all the kids we know with "non-normal" names, it was really difficult to come up with a boys' name that wasn't a friend's name AND that dh likes!

If it's a girl, she'll be Alia Quinn.

I say the names as if they're definite, but if we meet our babe and the name doesn't fit, we'll definitely choose different names!

We are set on Calvin for a boy. In fact, we call the baby Calvin almost all of the time (we're both sure it's a boy).

If it's a girl, we like Robin. DH also likes Leonora, which I think is pretty but kind of fussy.

We're undecided on middle names. I'd like to use a family name, but most of our choices are kind of eh/dull/boring (James, Michael). If not family, then literary -- like Calvin Tristram after Tristram Shandy, and for some reason I like Clarissa from Mrs. Dalloway.

We're keeping the names pretty secret!

I am so going to ruin that! We had a hard time agreeing on names, but DH insisted on starting to discuss the topic the *night* we found out we were pregnant, so they are pretty much settled at this point. I love love love all of the beautiful names on this thread and like many girls I've had baby names floating around in my head since way before I had any interest in actually being pregnant. Still, my husband is Robert (the third!!) and he has a hard time accepting non-traditional names. Mine is Anjanette and I'd love to continue with interesting names, but there will be time.

So at this point our baby will be Emma Ruth if she's a she and Aidan Robert if he's a he. We finally decided on them because they are beautiful (though trendy) and literary (anyone read Byzantium by Lawhead?).
I haven't read Byzantium, actually. Aidan is a common name where I grew up, in the north-east of England, because St Aidan is one of the local saints up there. I like it, but DH grew up with a lad called Aidan that he couldn't stand and has vetoed it.

wow, some great names out there!

We just returned from our long summer up at our cottage, dp and I both start school next week....and I have my first midwife apointment on Wednesday!!!!!! I'm super excited, especially since I haven't gained any weight yet and am still wearing all my regular clothes...I'd like to get a sense that this baby is growing nicely

Jack is so cute, he talks about the baby in *his* tummy, and keeps asking me to 'push it out, mamma ~ I want to see the baby!"

As for names...we haven't told ANYONE our names yet...In fact, we've given those persistent ppl (IL's and my dad) fake names ~ it was great to see their faces when we said "well, for a boy we like David Anthony and for a girl it's Clover May". No idea where they came from, just popped into my head. I thought my mil was going to fall over.

Anyway, our boy name is Elijah Daniel (we both like Eli and Daniel is for me : since Im Danielle). Our girl name is a bit more scattered...

We both like Quinn, but not sure if that should be 'it'. Meaning, is there a long form of Quinn that we could use and just shorten it to Quinn when we're talking to her? Does that make sense? Our son is Jackson, but we call him Jack; we wanted him to have the choice when he became an adult about which name he'd like to use...any thoughts on a long form of Quinn? We also like Zadie.

We're both pretty convinced this baby will be a gril.

Long forms of Quinn (taken from a baby name book, no necessarily pretty names LOL):
Quinby, Quincey, Quinella, Quinesburga, Quinesha, Quinetta, Quintana, Quintessa, Quintilia, Quintiliana, Quintina, Quintrell, Quintruy, Quinturay

HTH some.

I *love* the name Elijah. That and Enoch were my first choices for boy names.

flapjack: Byzantium is actually an historical fiction about the very same St. Aidan.

Everyone has such great names - it's almost making me reconsider some of our choices. I still have no clear picture of what the Bean's sex is and I'm pretty convinced s/he will not cooperate when we have our level II U/S next week. The Bean spent a good hour jumping on my bladder yesterday - great for the reassurance that s/he is moving about but not my most favorite of feelings - not something I'm looking foward too as s/he gets bigger. A half a pound using your bladder as a trampoline is annoying, several pounds doing it and I may very well wet my pants.

Isn't this why everyone keeps telling you to do your pelvic floor exercises? :

I found out today that a friend of mine, after four consecutive losses, is 12 weeks pregnant : They've been trying for two years, so I'm pretty happy for her. She's having a homebirth too (HBAC) although she's booking with an independent midwife. We spent the afternoon chilling out at the Forest festival, which is pretty much IT for Swindon's alternative/ crunchy community- a group of people sitting around in a forest with a beer tent, good food, good music, craft activities and juggling and stuff for the kids to do, with a few tents of people trying to sell you things. It was cool And this morning I spent a fun time at an antenatal class- I love first time mums, I really do. (No offence to those here.) They're all convinced that their babies are going to come early and they all have these cute adorable neat and perky bumps . You never really get that excitement again, do you?
AND, having central heating, the house is way too hot I'm going to go and sit in the fridge. (It's not turned on, btw. )

If it's a boy we are set, Ofcorse after 3 girls we should have a boy name nailed down. Boy- Elijah James (James is DH first name) We love Elijah

We have no gilrs names that we can agree on right now and that has never happened before. Our girls we have are 5- Breaunna Faith, 3-Gabriella Annaliese, and 18mo- Krisalyn Elise Rose

I am up for suggestions. We find out the sex on Wed. and I have a feeling we are going to need a girl name!

As for the rest of pregnancy all is going pretty well. Still seeing the midwife and Docs every 2 to 3 weeks. They upped my dose of heprin injections twice a day. I am pretty used to it now. I am anxious for the sono on Wednesday to see normal growth and no clotting or problems that are associated with my clotting disorder. Nautiousness has returned afer feeling perfect for the last 8 weeks. Every pregnancy is different.

I'm on vacation. I needed it. It helps, I've figured some things out, I'm feeling better. Still... i need to find food. CHEAP food. No more marshmallows.

When you find the cheap food - please share.

I wish I could go on vacation...

I found a grocery store. It's cheap, compared to fast food.
