As September gets closer, more and more people are asking DD (6, going into 1st grade) Are you ready for school? What school are you going to? When does school start? Etc. She always gives me this look and a tiny smile, I nod my head and she tells them she's homeschooling (assuming that they are asking a question that has that as an appropriate answer). Ususally if they ask the other questions they are all based on the assumption that she is going back to ps. In those cases do I/we just let them assume or do we/she tell them? What do you do? Yesterday, we went to the ILs and of course the quesion came up. Since we have not seen them since May, they didn't know. MIL was asking DD about school, we exchanged 'the look' and DD told her. MIL didn't seem to understand or hear her or something because she kept on the 'going to school line of questions'. Finally I stepped in and said 'she's not going to school this year, she is staying home with me, she's homeschooling.' DD seemed at a loss after telling her 2-3 times. That finally stopped the questions. How would you have handled it? TIA!
