looking for a song book

I'm looking for a comprehensive song book that combines both traditional, folk, and nursery rhyme type music.

I borrowed a copy of Rise Up Singing from the library, but was disappointed that it only had the guitar chords. I don't need the full piano music, but a melody line would be nice to help along with the songs we're not too familiar with.

For younger kids, I love "Music for Ones and Twos: Songs for the Very Young Child." It has great melodies that I remember singing, as well as melodies that are good for helping with chores and singing to other babies.

Here's the ISBN: 0385142528

Are you religious? Unfortunately, a lot of the songbooks for very young children have religious themes to them, but maybe you can find other things that fit if you're not.

PM me if you'd like any other ideas.

I don't mind religion (of any kind) being thrown into song books.

Have you tried to locate "We Sing Silly Songs?" They're great, there are a ton of them, and they usually come with a melody book and a tape. It's great for when you're in the car and want to keep kids entertained singing (at the expense of your sanity, of course).
