I think it woudl be cool to have an official name for our "school" especially as the boys get older. Do you have one for your homeschool?

We don't have an official name, but sometimes in jest we refer to it as "Beis Ima."

Beis (bronounced "base") is Hebrew for "house" and "Ima" (eema) is Hebrew for "Mommy." It's a take-off on a popular Jewish school for girls called Beis Yaacov (ie, the grammar makes more sense in Hebrew than a literal translation into English does.)

I like those. Another question, do you plan on keeping teh name the same or changing it? I have a cute preschool name I have been using for years with my in home daycare but realize I desire a more professional name in a sense for when my boys are in high school, ya know? Maybe something with the word academy in it or something but that still makes the point we are informal and fun. Does that make sense?

Our short term goal is to homeschool until grade 5 and transition them to a good public school or private depending on the situation so our school name will remain the same until then.

If our children decide they want to continue homeschooling (or we find it's in their best interest) then we might change our name accordingly. I hate the idea of sending them to school, but DH feels strongly about sending them because of what they can offer in terms of science/technology. Personally I didn't even set foot in a lab until I was in high school so I don't see the difference. But I'll deal with that when the time comes I still have 7 years to change his mind.

Great Adventures Learning Academy. I don't know if we'll keep it, we may change it if we move, but that's how we're listed in this state.

Very cute! With your permission, I'd love to use that when my time comes!

Here in NC we're required to register with a school name and we can't change it. Although, we are moving in December, so, we may choose to change it then. Our current school name is "Classical School of Learning."

We don't have a name yet. We aren't required to have one, but I think it would be nice for dd to say I go to _____ school. Problem is she wants something like (her 1st name's Rainbow School). I want something just a little more serious sounding especially with ds coming up the ranks too.

We don't have a name yet, but I've been thinking about it. I love the ideas here so far!

We haven't chosen a name, we're not required to and we haven't found something that feels right yet. We're thinking of a name just so we can make cute ID's and stuff. LOL! Right now we jokingly call us the (Last Name) School for Unruly Children! LOL! We sound like some sort of reform school.

I change mine all the time LOL! At first (when the kids were all young) I used Whole Child Academy then I changed it to LAkeside Academy but the kids didn't like that so now we are The School Down the Lane. I imagine we'll change our minds again too

My business cards (Free from VistaPrint.com) say Dakota's Day School. If we ever do have to use a school name, that's what I'll use.
