How thick should a 1-layer wool cover be?

The thread title says it all, basically. I felted a goodwill sweater to make into a cover, and while it is thickER and and has a tighter weave now, it's not *really really* thick. I've never actually seen a wool diaper cover irl, so I don't know how thick it ought to be. I'd love to keep it just one layer though. Thanks for any advice!

Try it and see how it works!

But if the weave became fairly tight when you felted it, between that and lanolinizing you should be fine with one layer for daytime

What kind of pattern are you using? I've used contrasting yardage for the waist when my sweater got too felted to fold over. If you're using elastic on the waist, it won't matter if your yardage is stretchy or not.

It will probably work great- I'm still surprised at how great wool is every time I pop a new cover or pair of longies on my LO....
