i would get the 14" ones, and a few more of the 12" size... you only really "need" the PP ones for up to a week or so, but you can also use them as overnight pads later on.. i really like a nice long one for overnight (i also leak in weird places!!).. and you can't have too many of daytime ones.

i personally like PUL, it has saved many a pair of underpants : though i tend to wear my "ugly" underwear with AF anyways LOL.. i just feel way more comfy knowing that it will not leak onto my clothes. LOVE hemp! must have wings with snaps (definitely not velcro.. let's just say OUCH on your little hairs!).

this will be my 3rd PP cloth experience... first time, i didn't have enough long pads, second time around much better.. this time, i'm ordering just a few more to be sure!

Yes, a friend of mine told me she was using about 7-8 on the first 3 days, bigger being better for her; and then she was able to cut back to 5ish for the first week, slowly tapering to smaller pads.

Not sure if that helps at all...I'm still going to get the biggest, widest, cover every spot bc I have issues with AF...never mind PP And, I just bought myself some new undies (part of my nesting...I purged all the old, nasty ones. Most had holes anyways...: )

I am very interested in this. I have never used cloth before and my google search turned up way too many web sites. For those of you who use cloth, where do you get them and do you have a site you recommend? I am way to overwhelmed right now trying to figure out the cloth diaper thing that I don't think I can handle researching this too! I would gladly take suggestions. Thanks ladies!

Oh, I just saw Sckoon has Organic pads. Has anyone tried this brand?

Michelle,

I have some organic Lunapads that are really nice. Consider contacting Kelli (monocyte) about the lady she knows that makes pads. My only recommendation would be to try a sampling of a few different styles to see which works best for you. If you're more of a tampon person, you may not want to go great guns buying pads and save up for a Keeper or similar cup when AF comes back. Just get enough to last you through the postpartum period. I find mama cloth is really easy when I'm cloth diapering - I do a first rinse of the dipes to get the yucky stuff off, then toss everything in together for the wash. I've also tossed them in with towels. I found AF to be much lighter with a cup and mama cloth than with disposable products. What else do you need to know?

So I have a "duh......" question...

I've been wondering a lot of the same things other ladies have mentioned... I'm kinda interested in using cloth for AF, but I'm cheap and was hoping to use old prefolds instead of buying fancy stuff. How do you attach them to your underwear?

Hmm, that one I'm not sure about. I have gf that have used prefolds, but just as a wingless pad that really just sat in the undies not attached...

Thanks for the advise. I will check out the Lunapads. I have never used pads (don't really like them), occasionally panty liners though. One of my big problems is that I do manage to go all or nothing into new things, so you are right, I should try out a few first to make sure I like them before speding alot of money! I think I will just get a few for PP and see how that goes. And after the baby I do want to try a Keeper. Thanks!
