How can I get in on it? I wasn't very active when it was being set up I think. Is it too late?

hi aimee,
at this point we have enough mamas who previously signed up that if we do two mamas a week, we will be done the last week of october, if i've counted correctly (the latest it would go would be the first week of november). this is both including the mamas who signed up by the original due date and a couple who joined a few weeks later and asked if i could spotlight them if i had time. so i'm willing to do whatever you ladies want me to -- ie i can tack you on after i get through everyone else, in early november? that seems fair to me.
this reminds me of another question i've been wondering about, which is that there are a few mamas who signed up but are almost totally inactive in our group now. i know when i originally asked if our ddc wanted to do this, there was a marked preference for only showcasing mamas who stay active in the group. but i'm not sure where we all want to draw the line. how long should a mama go without posting before she's considered "inactive?" is posting once a month "active?" i'm curious to know what you all think.

Okay, that's fine. I was just lurking around that time because I was scared to death of miscarrying. So if you can tack me on that's fine, but if not, no biggie

I'm interested in being tacked on, too... same story as Aimee, I came to the party a little late.
As far as "how active" etc.... is it fair to say that if they don't notice the post informing them that they are mama of the week, then they aren't active enough for a spotlight?

haha, i was thinking the same thing. in all seriousness though my concern (even before this thread) was that i could use those "spots" for members like you and aimee who didn't join us til later but are extremely active now, you know?

I think it is fine esp if a mama hasn't been posting a lot. People come and go from the groups, there are a lot of mamas who were really active in the beginning who aren't hardly around any more and mamas who are just now speaking up or just now even finding the DDC that will be really active. So I think that is perfectly a-okay

and then there are mommas like me, who come to the ddc everyday, and read a whole lot, and i feel like part of the group, but i don't post a heck of a lot. i'd still want to be included, and by getting a turn, i'd actually post alot more

I understand that there are probably a lot of people that lurk more than post and would still like to be included, but my opinion is that if they don't post at least a few times a week, they aren't active enough to be showcased. Posting to the group 2 times a week is not much, even for a lurker. This is a pretty active group with lots of topics, surely people can find 2 things to post about/show interest in in one week. I'd rather see people like Erica and Aimee showcased.
