blizzardbabe- what an awesome find!

willemsmamma- Send some of those raspberry goodies my way! I've got 3 gallons of organic raspberries in my freezer that I haven't done anything with yet : I typically collect my berries in the summer and cook them up into jam, etc in the fall. I could so go for one of your raspberry tarts right now!

Ewwww, how can you folks even talk about food? -barf-

Mmmmm raspberries and peaches. Last pregnancy I craved rhubarb so bad but it was winter and there was none! This week I made apple crisp which I love and can eat all day and I CAN'T eat it. Sooo frustrating. I'm not puky sick but I can barely choke food down right now and anything remotely dry is not working. : But I am really happy about stronger symptoms!

I love the changes of being pregnant, bigger bbs : , feeling the baby move (my first was a head grinder though - that was painful!), and I felt very empowered and strong after childbirth. I love my newborns and breastfeeding and the first few weeks when they sleep and sleep all curled up oblivious to everything. Yeah I love it all!

lol

i will be honest here and say, ask me this question in about a month but one thing I love is knowing there is another beating heart that is in my body besides my own :-) this will be our last one as well so I am trying to focus on being positive thru the whole thing, which is much easier said than done when you're kneeling in front of the porcelain goddess at 2 a.m.

i love that my dd will be a big sister and is already bringing me water and snacks and things and telling me, "The baby is hungry." or "The baby is thirsty." and taking care of me like such a good kid. i did good with her, and I am happy knowing I can create one more positive person in the world to hopefully counteract all the mean nasty ones full of hate out there.

but, food is evil. wahhhh

Yeah... this is our last child, for sure, though I know that if for some reason I decide I REALLY want to be pregnant again ;-), it would be trivial to find a couple that I'd want to surrogate for. So it doesn't *have* to be the last pregnancy/birth, if I don't want it to be. Leaves things open.

Well I've been really sick for weeks now so it's hard to think of something at the moment...but I can't wait until I am showing and I walk into work (where I haven't told anyone but my boss) with a belly and people start asking me about the pregnancy

I agree...last night I ate some rice with a little cheese (ok, maybe more then a little) and I laid down for an HOUR trying not to move because I knew if I did it would all come up again. Well I really had to pee so I had to move after an hour and I sat on the toilet and puked the rice into the garbage can
...I do this a lot at night LOL I hate looking at or thinking about food right now....

Things I like about pregnancy:

Feeling the baby move
I have boobs again! And I get to enjoy that for at least the next 2-3+ years!
Nursing a newborn, awww...

I, too, was scared and anxious and uneducated throughout my first pregnancy. I just kind of handed over most of the responsibility to the OBs. I actually consciously thought, "They know more about how to have a baby than I do." I'm a 180 degree different woman today, and I'm really loving that. I feel empowered by everything I've read and learned over the last (almost) 4 years.

Food though, don't talk to me about food.

Ugh, I am feeling blooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaated. I just feel puffy and jiggly around the midsection. I can't wait for a legit pregnancy belly, because right now I just feel FAT.

My favorite part is feeling the baby move and then having dh be able to feel the baby move. For some reaSon his being able to feel the movement for our little one just makes me tear up. Maybe part of that is because I feel movement so early, 13 weeks with dd and 11-12 with ds. I'm hoping this one cooperates with nice big movements early on like it's sibs did. I have some very amusing memories from being 11-12 weeks along with ds. I was laying down on the couch holding a very warm bag of popcorn and chasing him across my stomach with the heat from the bag. I might just tear up now thinking about it!

Now, ivory carving is fairly common up here. What's weird, is that it's in the shape of some kind of what looks like a fertility charm. A woman with big ol' breastfeeding breasts, and a spiral around where her uterus would be. It's odd because the Native people are VERY Christian. I have no clue who made this, or what kind of symbol it really is, but it sure looks fertile to us!
cooooooool.

:

quiet 'round these parts lately...everyone too puky, too tired i assume i felt good yesterday, today soooooooo tired. someone on my tribal thread posted this recipe for ginger ale to curb nausea yesterday thought i'd share:

Homemade Ginger Ale
"For those who suffer from motion sickness or common, garden-variety nausea, ginger is a gift," writes Ellen Michaud in The Healing Kitchen. (Browse the book online.) Ginger also may aid digestion, according to Michaud. (One caveat: If you're taking one of these medications, talk to your doctor before using ginger.) Here's Michaud's ginger ale recipe:

Ingredients
4 teaspoons fresh grated ginger
2 cups water
4 teaspoons honey
2 cups seltzer water
Lemon slices
Ice

1. Finely chop or shred ginger in a food processor or with a hand grater. Boil water and add the ginger to it. Cover and let steep for 10 minutes. Strain.
2. Add honey. (More can be added to taste.)
3. Allow mixture to reach room temperature. Pour 1/2 cup in a glass. Add seltzer, a lemon slice, and ice. Stir and serve. Any leftover drink must be refrigerated or the mixture will begin to ferment and you'll have ginger beer! Makes 4 servings.

i love a sexy round belly, dressing around it and getting new clothes , but i love that i am doing something, gestating a human, and it gives me a great sense of purpose.

oh but the best part, absolutely the best, side-effect free, no-guilt BIRTH CONTROL! ('caaaaaause yer already pregnant )
