urgh...my blood pressure

14w5d today! Go in for my peri appt and my blood pressure was 140/83. ARGH. At home it's been in the 120's/70's range so that was kind of unexpected. I don't know if it's my blood pressure machine or if I was just tired...they had me sit for 5 minutes before they took it, too (I'm participating in a pre-e study) so you'd think it'd have been lower. :

On the positive, I had them do a quick doppler listen and the baby had a nice steady heartbeat in the 130's :

What was the temperature inside? I know mine always shoots up when it's the least bit warm.

I realize you're at increased risk of pre-e anyway but were you stressed at all (traffic, having to wait too long, etc?) how much water have you been drinking? Try increasing it and see if that helps. Are you taking calcium/magnesium? Were you nervous at all? When I'm nervous my BP goes up.

As a former pre-e/preemie mom I can totally commiserate. Mine has been greatn until this appt. It's not high but it's creeping up already. 134/70. I just got back. But again, my baby was a nice steady 150's heartbeat and the ultrasound was incredible. As you can see from my siggy, we have an educated guess on sex already! And I know I wasn't dehydated because I just peed a gallon from my ultrasound 5 minutes prior to the blood pressure. But I really hope this was just a weird fitting cuff for both of us or a weird occurrance, never to repeat again! Best of luck mama. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts. I don't want you to go through what you went through with your older daughter.
