What's in Your Peri bottle? - Page 2

ATD-mom~ That's what I have, too. We got it pretty cheap when we ran a Frontier co-op. Hope it's a good one! I was disappointed that they didn't list all of the ingredients, too.

Oh, good!

So do you think it'd be good as both a sitz bath and peri bottle solution? It seems to me you'd want the same ingredients in both. But of course I know nothing of such things.

I have several peri bottles, I plan to try the witch hazel & TTO in one & the tush soak in another.
It does seem like it would be a good wash since soaking in it is supposed to be a relief.

Where are you guys finding the peri bottles? I know I can buy them from my birth center. But I haven't seen them at drugstores. Maybe I should go to a place that isn't a chain?

I get my plastic squeeze bottles from Target in the travel section by the toiletries. It's similar to what I got at the hospital. Not sure if there are better ones out there. Don't think I've seen spray/mister ones though like that new mama one.

I guess I will look into buying one of these and using one of your recipies. Do you get them at a drug store?

It's so funny sometimes about all the things you don't think about during your first pregnancy like wiping your bum after giving birth!
Yeah, I'm pretty sure either my doula explained about not wiping, or I figured it out pretty quickly. The area is going to be swollen and very tender. FYI in case you decide to take a look at it too. I was interested to see what it looked like down there after giving birth...and well...it looked like I had given birth. It was a little scary. But just wanted to warn ya, cuz I know some women look and it totally freaks them out. It all goes back to normal though. Especially with the help of the peri bottle solution and frozen witch hazel pads.

Last time I used warm water in my peri bottle with a few drops of Gentle Baby, an essential oil blend from Young Living. The oils had a warming and then numbing sensation... an amazing feeling for after birthing!
