How much weight does everyone have to lose? - Page 3

I started this thread nearly a month ago, and since then I've only lost an additional 8.5 lbs. So now I'm 22 lbs over my pre-preg weight. I'm finally out of maternity jeans, thank goodness -- I'm borrowing some of my sister's size 12 jeans. My pre-preg size 6's take one look at my fat postpartum butt and just laugh . . .

I'm kinda p.o.'d at myself for gaining so much. If I had gained a normal amount of weight, I'd have my old body back by now.:

Aww, I know how you feel...I feel the same way. I am really regretting that ice cream I so freely ate at the end of my pregnancy. I thought this weight would be long gone by now. and it is really starting to make me depressed.

My pre pregnancy size is a 0 or a 2...right now I am in a 6. NOTHING I own fits me..except my maternity jeans..and 4 t-shirts I wore for the first 30 weeks of my pregnancy. :

Maybe we need a post partum weight loss support group?

glad so many of you are on your way to losing weight! i don't know how much i have to lose, but i do know that i am still either in maternity pants or wearing dh's pants. i have been trying to find time to go running, but i have been procrastinating more than anything. last night dh and i had a talk and we are cutting all sweets out of our diet starting on monday. usually when i go on my "no sugar diet" i lose weight pretty easily! let's hope it holds true!

I'm scared to go step on the scale.

And I don't really want to lose too much because I want to keep my milk supply up.
I still haven't stepped on a scale since I was pregnant.

I'm not going to diet to lose weight, because I'm breastfeeding and it takes all the calories I can muster to do that, but I AM continuing my pregnancy diet: whole grains, few sweets, lots of fish and veggies, etc.

But, it is SO nice to be able to eat a sugary treat and not have to worry about my glucose rising!

I'm exercising... or, at least, I have once. But I plan to make it a regular thing.

well, if it makes anyone feel better...my 21 pound weight loss is only 1/8 of what I need to loose.

I've seem to shed off 20lbs. I guess the rest will come off slowly. I was 10 lbs. over weight pre-pregnancy and gained 40lbs with pregnancy, so I'll be happy and if I shed off another 20lbs. but that won't be for a while now. I'll give myself another 6 mos. Just trying to eat very healthy being that i'm breastfeeding. Tried to do some yoga the other day and boy my body is not ready for it at all.

Well I just weighed myself. I've got probably 30lb to lose. I was about 135 when I got pregnant this time, up to 193 when the babies came, and now I'm 170. No wonder NONE of my post-pregnancy clothes from first two babies fit. No wonder I feel so fat and icky. 170 is a lot for my frame. DH weighs 3lb more than me and is trying to gain weight. Blech.

I was going to tell dantesmama i was mad at her for ever being a size 6, but then i read that supermuma is mad that she is a size 6 and is supposed to be down to a 0 or 2 -- which i haven't seen since before puberty. : I have lost my pre-pregnancy weight according to the scale but at least some clothes don't fit. In fact, I have hardly any clothes I can wear. Most maternity pants are too big, but most pre-pregnancy pants are too small. Weirdly, this one pair of 9.99 black pants from the burlington coat factory that fit me best at the end of the pregnancy still fits me best now! unfortunatey dd pooped on them...

I lost all the weight that I gained (25 lbs) within a few weeks but still nothing really fits properly. My newly gigantic boobs are making all my shirts too tight and short, and apparently my hips are wider because my favorite jeans just aren't as comfortable I've started going back to the gym as of last week, so maybe I'll firm up a bit and fit into everything, but if not - great excuse to go shopping!!

Now I am up 2 lbs again. While being too busy soothing the baby to eat all day. Go figure.

I agree! I've fallen off the wagon. It began with ds1's birthday - there were so many cupcakes left over, and I ate almost all of them. Now I'm just craving sugar all the time. I'm starting over, and I've been doing good today.

I was a size 2 before ds1 came along! Funny how everything shifts around so much after pregnancy. Even after you lose the weight things just aren't the same. *sigh*

I've only lost 4 or 5 since this thread started. I'm bummed about how hard it's become to lose it. Then again, if I would quit snacking on chips and chocolate it would come off!

One thing I've found that helps me stay away from sugar is if I start the day with protein. If I have scrambled eggs it helps alot but I can't eat them everyday. Last week I bought a can of nuts and they've helped me too. I know they are higher in calories but in the end it's worth it if it means I'm not eating the other stuff.

Woohoo! I finally broke 160! I've been stuck at 162-164 for 2 weeks, and this morning I was 159.5. Even with 4 mini Reese cups last night!

Babies will be 3mo old this week (hard to believe!) so I've started walking again. If I have milk supply issues I'll have to stop, but even 2 or 3 days a week of walking 30min should make a little dent in the weight.

I don't have a scale, so who knows where I am right now. Went for a high altitude hike around the new farm we just bought, and was surprised that I didn't wear myself out, and wasn't terribly sore after either. Other than that, my work makes me pretty sedentary (work at home translator).

So, I'm sure I haven't made any progress yet. Won't know until it's time for the kids' check ups and I can use the pediatrician's scale

Well, I still don't know how much I weigh and won't find out til my doc appt on Thursday, I have officially figured out that I am a size 18... prepregnancy I was a 13. So I guess I have some work to do. I was supposed to go for a nice walk to the librbay today to meet friends, but woke up too late....Oh well, there's always tomorrow.
