Pregnancy insomnia

Uck. Isaac woke me up at 5am with an asthma attack and I can't get back to sleep I had a hard time getting off to sleep last night as well, and I'm not going to be having a nap today. The builder turns up to do the central heating within the next 1/2 hour.

Anyone else having the broken nights yet?

Yep. I've been having problems all along. I usually work the night shift, as I did tonight, but I will have to get up early for a day shift tomorrow. I get of at midnight, get to sleep around 1 or 1:30, and am usually up at 6 or 6:30 AM restless and trying to get back to sleep.

It totally sucks.

I hope you're able to get some rest soon. There's been construction going on right next door here too, and even though they wait until 8 or 9 AM to get started, I understand how hard it is not to want to commit violent acts sometimes.

Past several nights I've woken at 3.30 or so (when I normally do to go to the bathroom) and not been able to go back to sleep, but I have other stuff that's contributing. Actually, I haven't been to sleep yet tonight. The only times my insomnia has gotten really bad was right before I started seeing the chiro when I couldn't sleep soundly from the back pain.

I think I'll try to go to bed now.

I totally hear you on the switching shifts - years ago when I was working at an answering service I worked 2nd shift during the week and 1st shift on the weekend - nothing quite like leaving work at 11.30 to come back at 8 the next morning.

I think the thing that's the worst with insomnia/bad sleep right now is that my son only started sleeping consistently through the night when this pregnancy started so I can't enjoy a full night's sleep w/out a child to take care of. On the upside, I'll probably won't miss it as much when the Bean is on the scene.

OK - rhyming now. Need to sleep.

Ugh I'm not there yet but I always get pregnancy insomnia. It takes me forever to go to sleep at night. What always helped me was a Calms Forte before bed. Really made a big difference!

I was awake at 2:00, and also at 3:30 last night. And then again at 5:15. I tell myself it's the baby makin' all the ruckus, although I know intellectually I can't feel the ruckus yet.

Ugh! Don't remind me! I'm still at the intermitant buterfly kiss and somersault stage, but s/he does tend to be most active right as I'm ready to drop off at nihgt. This will NOT be good when I've got a six pounder in there instead of a six ouncer!

Ohhh what's this?

I have the worst time falling asleep, and I can when Dh rubs my back, but when he stopped, *bing* I'm wide awake. It's horrible. Then by 4pm the next day I literally can't keep my eyes open.

Oh yes. Let me join the club. Here I sit at midnight, exhausted, but wide awake.

Well, I got to sleep at 9.45 last night and up at 6am. So yeah, last night was better
It stinks that so many people are doing this on a regular basis though

i was wide awake at 5 this morning, counting the minutes until dh's alarm went off so i could get him to go get me a donut. :

it's all i could think about!!!

Thank you so much for mentioning this yesterday. Last night I awoke at 3:30, very excited bc I had actually slept 4 hours in a row comfortably (thanks to the wonderful snoogle!) but I didn't get back to sleep til 5:30!! : You jinxed me!!!

i too can't believe it's already started!: i have to get up at 5 am for work and it's killing me. i've been lucky to get 4 hours of sleep combined with all the waking, night-nursing and trips to the bathroom.

and with a toddler who only naps when i'm at work, i don't have the opportunity to come home and sleep

Yes. For a few weeks I'd always wake up around 4 or 5 and not be able to sleep for an hour or so. Now I can go back to sleep but I'm up at least twice to pee.

I have terrible pregnancy insomnia and restless legs. I had it last pregnancy, too. I take a lot of Hyland's Calms Forte and Hyland's Restful Legs. They really work well for me.
