looking for pro-GD christian book

At a recent LLL meeting, a mother was talking about feeling isolated from her church community because they are very pro-spanking, believe it is essential part of a christian upbringing, while she is very opposed to it. She said there was a parenting class she was thinking about attending, but was afraid the focus would be on spanking.
Any good GD books that are christian based? I think it would be a good resource for her, to support her beliefs - both in GD and her religion. But also maybe something she can bring to church and use to open up a dialogue.

Dr.Sears, though I think he mentions spanking in it, he says it's not necessary and not what they use. Can't remember exactly what he says about using spanking....
Another one is Biblical Parenting by Pastor Crystal Lutton. Excellent.
Graced Based Parenting by Tim Kimmel is good too. (though admittedly, I haven't finished it.... )

And send her over to GentleChristianMothers.com. Great online community that will have tons of resources for her. AOLFF.org (arms of love family fellowship) is a great website too. HTH

I have, and really like, Dr. Sears' Christian Parenting and Child Care. It's GD.

My fave is "Biblical Parenting" by Crystal Lutton, as well. It's "short and sweet" but has some terrific tools and a great rod study that should convince just about anyone on the fence about it that the "rod" in the Bible does not refer to corporal punishment.
