Anyone near Western NC want to split pastured beef?

We usually order 1/4 from Warren Wilson farms and it's a .25/lb. discount for the full steer, brings it to 4.75/lb. Anyone want to go in on one? I'll do the driving.:

Oh gosh I so wish you lived in Texas. We are trying so hard to find some good beef but to no avail.

Good luck, I hope you find someone to help!

you should pm root*children...she is in Asheville and might be interested (although she might still be a vegetarian, she might be interested for her family)

I can't find grass fed/organic/anything like that in our area. There is some, I think, in other places but for very expensive and too far.

My 1/4 last year was 105 pounds, finished weight. So I guess 400-450. I can't get the website to load for some reason but the packaging is:

2 round steak, 4 sirloin, 8 tbone, 8 ribeye, 16 cube steak, 2 Tip roasts, 1 shoulder roast, 2 chuck roasts, 10lbs stew, 25 lbs ground beef, 12 strips short ribs. Sometimes it varies, but that's the average.

Oh, and the ground beef is NOT lean, not sure the actual grind but it does have a lot of fat in it. We save it to cook with. Mmmmm fried potatoes.

That sucks, Kimmie. I'm kinda surprised we have so many sources here in the mountains. I'd drive you some but that's a liiiitle bit too far. :P
