Pickle Question

I made 13 quarts of picles the other day with my Polish friend, we followed her grandfather's recipe. After slicing the cukes & adding all of the goodies, we poured boiling salted water in the jars, quickly screwed on the lids & flipped them over until they cooled. When I flipped mine over, only a couple had popped, but by the next morning, many more had popped. As I carried them to the basement, one jar started hissing & I smelled pickles. I assume that jar didn't seal properly - should I just eat them now? They've been fermenting for 3 days now.

i would, just taste them they should be ok. put them in the fridge. that's what i do to any that i'm not sure of as far as sealing properly. I put half a case in the fridge (it was very cramped for a awhile) because i didn't know the thrick about turning over the jar to seal it. since i started doing that they always seal. but after working that hard on pickles just put them in the fridge, the longer they sit that will still pickle just not as fast as room temp.
