Names: PLEASE READ:

We cannot post the names of our businesses in our posts. Even if you have a sig paid for. Also, no links to the site or pictures of the products you make.

If your post contains any of these, please edit them out, otherwise I will begin editing tonight.

Thanks mamas!
Take a look at the guidelines posted on this forum as well, if you haven't already!

So if you've paid for the advert package that allows you to have your biz name in your sig, you need to be sure to not post with a sig in the WAHM Well forum? I can understand that you don't want wholesale spamming going on, but in your guidelines you say not to post links, yet offer the advert package for $100 in the next section.

I just wanted to clarify, esp. since there appears to be a biz-related link in your sig.

TIA!

Can we post asking for help figuring out a name? I"m still stumped on what to call my "store" that isn't even up or stocked yet :LOL and I need a name so I can get my tax id and start buying products to sell.

If you have paid for a business sig link, you can use your link on the boards, but you can't mention your store name in your posting. It has to stay in the sig.

Make sense?

You can ask for help about your store name if you can do it without advertising your store. That can be tricky!
But I'm sure you'll think of something clever

I think I've got it....

So, we can keep our signature lines, but can't say like my biz at www.xyz.com (not my biz of course), or take a look at what we now have at www.xyz.com/newthingamabob and lmk what you think

LOL
Am I right??

What about saying "I started My Company Name in 2000" or "I named my company Blahblahblah because" ?. (like in the inro thread, for example).

I've seen some posts where someone has typed the url of their biz but not made a link, kwim? That's surely not ok...

We'll all catch on LaLa :LOL we's not a dumb bunch of gals.

ok, I can understand these guidelines in other forums, but arent we wahms discussing our businesses?

I'll be blunt...this is a silly rule, particularly for this forum.
I thought this forum was for us WAHMs (all not just diaper makers) to finally have a place to openly discuss things.

TwirlGirl,
Please do feel free to take your suggestions and ideas to Cynthia, our board admin via pm or by posting in the Suggestions forum.

There is not much I can do about the rules of the boards. I'm just here to make sure everyone is playing nice and to have fun posting with the rest of you!

I agree it can be difficult to keep your name out of it, but i can still talk business left and right without naming my businesses...YKWIM?

I see what your side is, and I probably will PM Cynthia.
Some of the rules on MDC have always struck me as odd, and most of them not at all something I would expect from a free thinking mag like Mothering. In fact quite the opposite.

IMO, you would have to be an idiot to turn "my company is yadayadayada, and I opened in XYZ" into spam.

Spam is spam is spam and I would wager a large bet that any member of MDC could spot a real spam as such and know the difference.
