I spy bag questions

I've been wanting to make one of these for ages and I htink DD is finally old enough to appreciate it.

My big question is how many little things do you put inside (ideas appreciated) and how big did you make yours? I don't have a size in mind since I'll be recycling fabric to make it.

What's an I Spy bag, if I may ask?

It's like a beanbag/small cushion with a window of see through plastic fabric (in may case part of a stroller raincover) filled with rice and small toys/objects. The idea is that by moving the contents around different objects can be seen through the window.

There are a few threads around describing making them.

Ive made a few and put about 15 objects in them but a few more might be nice. I think my bags were about 7 or 8 inches square. Which was a good size for me.

What else can you use for a plastic window?? Also Is it sewn just like a beanbag with the exception of the window? I searched for past threads and it kept telling me no matches..not even this thread

They sell plastic to cover tables in most fabric stores. There are different weights and are easily sewable. You might want to look into those. And if you only need 6" long, it won't be pricey either...

My question... How small do the things have to be?

I seem to remember people using a piece of a shower curtain for the widow.

Once you've sewn your window into one piece of fabric it looks just like sewing a bean bag.

I've not seen one IRL but looking at the pellets I have (or I might use rice) I've keep objects quite small, about the size of a paper clip.
