I have an old Ergo that works just fine, but I wanted a new generation one because it has some features I like better. Also, we have two kids now and occasionally we wear dd. Anyway, I bought a new one and the strap to the sleeping hood came off completely within a month. I brought that one back to the mama I ordered it from and got a replacement. Today I noticed that the stitching has come out along the padded waistband and there's a pretty big hole where you can see the foam pad inside. WTH? For $92 it should be well-made! Maybe it's because they're made in China now. I'm very disappointed because it's the best carrier I've used.

I have one I bought in February which does not have that problem. Sounds as though you have a faulty one-- I'd exchange it too.
You haven't been washing it on hot or anything, I assume. The label says "for best results, do not wash frequently."

They have been made in China for awhile now. I've actually owned every generation of Ergo and have never had any issues with any of them. It does sound like you have a faulty one. I would just exchange it for a new one.

Definitely contact the company and see what they say about it.
Unfortunately this is two Ergos in a row that had stitching come out of them. I'm going to try for a third and see what happens. Maybe the cranberry ones have the problems??
