Floaties in urine...HELP!

I'm not sure what this means...but I've had "floaties" in my urine (much like pulp in orange juice). Is this bad? And if so, what does it mean? If it's not a cause for concern, what exactly causes it?

And let me know if this is a common thing & I'm just being ridiculously paranoid!

I'm assuming that you noticed this when providing a urine sample for your HCP? So it was in a specimen cup (ie, you are certain the floaties are coming from you, lol!)?

If so, has your HCP made any mention of it? Shown any concern about it? Requested any sort of testing because of it?

Anyway, what I'm getting at is, if your doc or midwife has seen it but shown no concern, then my personal guess would be that the floaties are cervical mucus or something. Since pregnant women tend to be "juicy" (that's what my midwife says, lol! ), my first inclination would be to say that the floaties are vaginal in origin.

Just a guess....of course I have no real clue, but it's a possibility.

I haven't been giving urine samples lately, but did notice it today when I peed in the cup. They haven't said anything because I haven't seen them for a bit of time. Actually, I noticed it in my toilet bowl for awhile now...It's very concentrated...not like it's only a few, but it's FULL of pulp-like stuff. I can't seem to find ANYTHING on the internet about it and was hoping someone on here knew about this sort of thing and would help ease my mind! I don't think it would be cervical mucous...I'm sure it's coming from my kidneys/bladder...
Thank you for the quick response!

The medical term for the floaters is "sediment". It can be clusters of cells or mucous threads.

It sounds like ketones in your urine. Try to eat more protein.

I had cloudy/sediment-y urine in my last pregnancy, not all the time but fairly regularly. I never tested postive for protein or sugars. No-one ever commented on it at the clinic.

If there are ketones in your urine, you can probably smell it - I think it's supposed to be a sweet smell.
