My very first vinyl, bought on the same day was The Smurfs All-Star Show & Urban Chipmunk. I think I was in 1st or 2nd grade. I still have my old Nena
'99 Red Balloons', Soft Cell 'Tainted Love' & 'Joan Jett 'I Love Rock-n-Roll' 45's from when I was a kid.

NO need to get away from vinyl! albums are cheaper than ever - ebay, etc. an investment in the best old school record player you can find - & the music comes cheap.

there is no trade for vinyl sound though... there's no comparison. its like trying to compare film photos with digital. the digital are AMaZiNG YeS! but... the film photos, well, yk, someone please pass the tissue box.

VINYL lives ON!!

Don't you ever wish you could go back to your teenage years & early 20's for just a short time? I had a wonderful childhood & I loved jr high & high school (I hated actual school but I was a social butterfly & loved going dancing & to concerts...) so I wax nostalic about it alot... plus I was much thinner back then!
we have a lot of records. you should get a record player ASAP! Though I see that this is more about nostalgia than the actual records...

No, I don't miss it. Am I the only uncoordinated person here who regularly felt anxiety over having to put the needle on without scratching? Please tell me it wasn't just me :

I think I still have a stack of vinyl in the attic. Not sure why. The last vinyl I bought was Paul Simon's Graceland. After that I was all cassettes and then CD's. I like CD's the best.

The only thing I miss about vinyl is the great album art that some (by no means all!) albums had. You just can't get that detail on tiny CD cases.

I'm 38.

Oh, except Monty Python's three sided record. That was a good reason for vinyl

I was just thinking about this the other day. I love having a record player, but we had the hardest time finding one that would actually work with our entertainment system.
