Nursing mamas - I have a question...

Have your DC's stools changed now that you approach your due date? I've had colostrum since about 28 weeks, but the past few days, it seems a little thinner (my colostrum) and DS is going "poo" 3-5x per day and it's super soft, etc. At first I thought it was tummy upset, but now I'm suspecting that my colostrum has changed a bit and he's just experiencing "newborn poo" (he used to go every other day like clockwork). He doesn't complain, and I don't care because he's potty-trained, but I'm curious.

Yep, my DS is going CONSTANTLY. It never even occured to me that's what it could be. Thanks for bringing it up!

Oh yes! I *finally* associated the lack of solid stools and the frequency with which my daughter was going poo with the arrival of colostrom.

It was terrible for a week and bad for another week, but I think her body has readjusted and now we get easy rolloffs (sorry TMI but as a die hard CD mama you gotta love the easy roll off turdies)! :

Nope. Normal poos here and I've been able to express colostrom for some time now. I'm actually due in super late September.

Yes, I also notice a difference. It's actually happened a couple of times throughout the pregnancy. They even look like baby poos...that seedy mustard look. And I totally know about the "roll off" poos and are grateful anytime I get one, which is not right now!!
Oh and they smell really bad too.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I'm convinced it is colostrum - not a tummy bug. I figure if it was a tummy bug he would need to go at inopportune times, and he doesn't.

Dachshundqueen - If you are like me, you might notice a change closer to your due date. I've had colostrum since 28 weeks and just noticed this difference at 38 weeks. It appears that my colostrum has changed a bit...

OMG, that makes so much sense! I know know my son had something funky going on last week besides my milk... he had 5 BMs after bedtime and woke up screaming with nasty diaper rash each time. His Sunday school teacher said he had eaten a handful of sand when playing outside... yikes! But besides that incident, he's been having very soft movements pretty constantly! Yay colostrum! Anyone else freaking out about nursing two?
