I just tried by first sprouting this past weekend. I had great success with sprouting buckwheat but the barley I started didn't do much. After awhile it started to smell really bad so I threw it all out. I think I may have soaked it too long - 2 days. I didn't notice in NT that the initial soak was just 24 hrs. But I rinsed them 2x/day. Anybody have any luck with barley...did I buy the wrong kind or something - just got the generic brand that Waitrose puts out-? I seem to remember reading somewhere that sometimes they pre-roast the grains but I don't remember if it was barley that I was reading about.
