Has anyone else read this?

All I can say is wow. It gave a very brutal and honest look at domestic violence, rape, alcoholism...

It is really heartbreaking and so true.

I've read it

I recently read the sequel, "Paula Spencer"

It was excellent but also quite sad as she looks back on her earlier life.

I want that! I have to ask my library to order it. I didn't even realize it was out yet, somehow!

I remember reading this in college! We had to read it for some sort of class I took on Juvenile Justice. We read it alongside A Child Called It and they were both very moving.

Yes, I read it, quite a while ago but I remember it had quite an impact. A good reminder that real life in contemporary Ireland isn't exactly an Irish Srping commercial.

I saw this writer read from his work Paddy Clark Ha Ha Ha and it was amazing, one of the best author readings I've ever been to.

I haven't read Paddy Clark. I will have to get that next.

I have a lot of alcoholics in my family and my mother is a recovering meth addict, so this has been very moving.
