What are squidoo lenses?
Squidoo lenses only help your PVs if they're either on a commonly-searched topic, or you promote them. A couple of my lenses perform really well and do generate some decent traffic for me (until recently, anyway, since I haven't updated them in a while), and then a couple are pretty crap. What I did was to group together some articles on the same general topic (breastfeeding, cloth diapering, etc.) and build a lens. I added modules for Amazon, and on a couple of lenses I beefed them up with links to other CPs' articles and other helpful websites.

I'm also on Myspace and involved in some groups, and I promote my lenses there. If someone says, "Hey, I'd like to learn more about cloth diapering," I point them to my CDing lens, and they can get info right on the lens, as well as links to my articles. It works pretty well.

Moving up the first few clout levels is easy and doesn't take much time especially if you write consistently. I think I was clout 6 in like 2 months. It was fast. See, your clout is measured by your page views PLUS the percentage of articles you have written. So if you have 1000 page views and 10 articles, your clout is 1000 page views + 10% of your page views. Early on you'll advance in clout just by writing really.

Hi! I'm new to this thread (and the boards, actually) but I just have to share this because I'm so excited -

An article I wrote in June about the new Ken Burns WW2 documentary (which premiered tonight) is the showcase article on AC's home page right this very minute!

*excited*
congratulations!
I saw that article earlier! I will make sure to go read it now!

Quick Question -- when you pull up your "My Content" Tab on AC and beside each article there is

Example : 200/$1.00

IS THAT page views and what they paid?

How is everyone else doing?

Are you setting goals now for October?
Yes, that is page views. But, the number with it is what the page views have earned. So, if you have 1,000 page views for that article it should say 1.50 next to it. But, that resets when you get paid for those views. So, if you've already recieved your 1.50, you will have a different amount depending on how many page views over 1,000 you have. If you have 1,500 page views and have already been paid your 1.50, it should say .75, which is what the 500 page views is worth. Does that make sense?

That is how I understand it - someone correct me if I am wrong.

No October goals for me yet. I still have to finish my September goals! LOL I've got 4 more articles to write. I think in October I am going to work on Suite again.

How do I contact my CM?I am so annoyed at my CM right now! They changed a title of my article (yet again) and it makes no sense! It should have been

Product Review- Herbs for Kids Temp Assure

Instead they changed it to

Product Review- Herbs for Kids by Temp-Assure

why can't they leave my titles alone instead of making me look like an idiot? :

E-mail admin at admin@associatedcontent.com. Anytime I have protested a title change they have always changed it back in a day or two.

I set my goals by what I submit because the publishing part is out of my hands. I've had very few declines (two in all), so most things get published anyway, but sometimes they don't always get published as soon as I would like them to.
thanks! I did send them an email.

btw someone is down rating my alternative medicine articles! I am so ticked! : so if you get a chance please rate me!

as for my goals- I plan to submit/publish at least 25 articles a week from now through the end of October (hopefully alot more but I don't want to se a too unrealistic goal!)

I also need to get going on some things for CC. I'm sick of getting paid crap at AC but I will continue to do it as it is really good practice and the fastest way to make $!

btw, have you noticed when you stop writing for awhile your offers are low at first then go up after about the 6th article or so? Do they make your offers higher the more you submit consistantly? I am just wondering how much the people who submit 10-20 a day are getting per article. also when you write alot do you notice your articles get offers quicker? just some things I've observed..I think I will post these questions on the AC forum when I get a chance too.
btw I just thought I'd share. I went through my articles and the highest offers and most page views are mostly pregnancy or baby related! just a thought if you need a topic!

I totally think there is something to this, as when I was pg with my 1st child (and some w. my second too) I spent hours and hours online reading birth and baby related articles!
I want to write at least 20 articles in October. This would mean I'm writing about one a day during the week. I'm hoping that setting a goal will help me get into writing more regularly. Setting a goal for what I want to spend the money on has helped get me motivated. Right now I'm planning to use it on Christmas presents.

WOOHOO! Orin is doing great, and I am so proud of my older son for being such a wonderful big brother!!! I'll tell you everything later.

I have definitely noticed that my parenting stuff and parenting related product reviews (esp. cloth diapers and baby carriers) are doing well in terms of page views).

I just got an op/ed parenting piece submitted, and they accepted and offered a small payment for it. So, I was pleasantly surprised. I'm a little nervous because it's my first op/ed type of article...wish me luck. Still in processing, but hopefully will be up this afternoon or tomorrow am.

I'm excited because I just upped my goal to 7 articles a week, and I have already met it this week! YAY me! Need to go back and add pictures to a few tonight, though.

I did have my second rejection yesterday, too, so that was a little sad, but decided to submit this one for PV bonus only (I didn't with the last denial) just to see how it does. Fingers crossed.

I'm really enjoying reading everyone's work!!
