Writing At Associated Content *September Edition!* - Page 2

I was paid within 24 hours. But it was sort of weird. I was paid $10, $5, $4 for the first three, and though they were accepted within minutes of each other, I was only paid for the first two. Then, when I had the next 2 accepted, I was paid for those two plus the one from the first time that was leftover. So, sort of weird. I am not sure if you need to have over $15 to get paid, or if that is just for page views.

Hopefully someone who has been doing this longer will have more info for you...

subbing!

I haven't submitted anything to AC in like 3 weeks! :

Page views were updated again. I am in shock - lol. I would have actually liked another day or two before the update. I missed the payment cutoff by about 20 cents. I'll get it next time for sure.

So, I got 195 page views. My articles (3 of them) were posted on Thursday. So, 4-5 days of viewing. That's not very good, is it?
I got about 5,000 page views. My mouth dropped wide open when I saw that they'd updated after only three days and then again when I noticed how many PVs I had! I haven't even written anything new. I have a few that are close to having 2 or 3 thousand...and two that are about to hit 4,000! :

Actually the update is usually only through a day or two before, maybe the night before the update. So, that could be even less days of viewing

Holy Moly Heather! That's amazing.

So, potentially, my 195 views could only be for one or two days? I think that makes me feel a little better...

Another question...are you able to view PVs per article, or only by total?

ETA: OK, I see it on the My Content page! Oh, and thanks for the response on the AC forum, Heather. I am sort of an eager beaver! LOL

It makes me really sad that of all the things I've wrote about, the article with the most page views (almost 4K) is the one with instructions on home abortion. I'm glad that I'm getting those page views, and it's nice to have an article with so many hits especially in (what is to me) such a short time period...but I think that's a really sad statement about society that this is my most popular article.

Your PVs will go up as you write more, get better at keywording, and promote more. RIght now I would work on building a little archive of articles before worrying about page views. Right now just write and try to get the hang of using keywords in your articles, so they'll be searchable. Once you have a little archive there, start actually promoting. Then watch your PVs go up.

I think I wanna try to get 20 published. (Maybe not that many but I DO need a goal!)

My first one is published and I've got two others that I'm waiting to hear about!
I will once I have something up!

Hi, everyone. I'm new to this thread. I submitted my first article the end of last week to AC. So we'll see. I am anxious to see if it gets accepted. I a SAHM to three girls three and under so I don't know how much time I'll really have to write regularly but its something I can do at home easily.

just curious,

there is an unschooling article on the front page of AC. did one of you write it?
I just read it. Very well done. I didn't write it, though! Can we share that it is there with moms in that forum, or is that a no-no?
No, but the lady who wrote it is a wonderful writer and mother. She doesn't write very often anymore, but she is great.

I love Summer's articles, including that unschooling one! I haven't seen her around AC much lately.

I've got a huge cleaning and organizing bug today, so no writing as of yet. My son has soccer practice tonight too. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to write tonight after the kiddos are in bed.

Welcome Pam and sahm1! PM your links to me when you get a chance.

Do any of you ever get paid for non-exclusive articles? They leave payment as an option so I thought I'd try, but the last one I submitted as non-exclusive was rejected. They rejected it on the grounds that it was too broad a topic to justify payment though, not because it was non-exclusive. It has gotten me the most page views so far though, so I'm glad I went ahead and submitted it for no payment.

I just submitted an article I'm really proud of, but I wrote it for another site so I'm going the non-exclusive route again. Anyone have much experience with this?
