Writing At Associated Content *September Edition!* - Page 11

Well I totally didn't reach my goals of 3 a day. Life just got crazy, even crazier than usual, I actually have 4 I need to proof (that I don't want to even look at) but I did get all caught up on reading this morning. Now once DS takes a nap I think that I should be able to be productive, maybe not with writing but with other projects that must be done, ewww including housework. Keep up the the good work everyone.

That's not so bad, Chey!

I am two articles away from reaching my goal of 20 for this month.

I just got offers on three articles I wrote on Monday! Anyone else getting fast offers this week?

Hey Experts!
AC seems like a great opportunity and I've been lurking on these threads for awhile. My question is, does anyone know whether it's ok to publish through AC under a pseudonym?
Thanks, Mamas!

(don't know why there's a canadian flag on my post - I'm still new at this, and, for the record, not canadian).

WOW! 3 Pages? What the heck have you girls been talking about?!

Just kidding, you all are awesome!

I've got some catching up to do on reading, so I'll get to that tomorrow. *NOTE -- I always read and rate everyones articles. Regardless of what they are about and if I agree with if or find it that I can need that information! I try to always comment but I find that sometimes have to read over 30 a day and then write

Heather -- CONGRATS! I'm gonna look foward to reading your birth story!

Maggie -- PLEASE PM ME! I'm spacy and tend to forget!

MaMoma -- I post under a pseudonym. Well Partially If you need to know anything else just ask or pm me!

Monday and Tuesday were really slow for me (processing and getting published) but Wednesday was great! I had 5 that were in queue accepted, and then 4 published! So, still a few more in processing, and a few in queue, but my CM was on a roll yesterday! WAHOO!

I did meet my Sept. goal of $100 and 5 articles a week! I think I already said, but my Oct/Month 2 (which really ends the week before the month ends) is 7 articles a week and $125. Fingers crossed! I also want to start working on keywording, which I've largely been avoiding thinking about until now!

kelly- I just really got the hang of keywording. the thing is I hate how dumb I sound in my articles repeating over and over! ahhh well just the way it goes.

I doubt I will make my goal of 25 this week. (written yes, published no) I have 10 new ones up and 5 more in my queue. Whatever else I write and sumbit this week likely won't go up until next week though.

I think you can. I thought about it, but then I thought it might be confusing to some of my readers to suddenly get notices for Joe Schmo getting published instead of my name. I think it would also change your link, so any place that you've posted your link, that link would die. I'm not sure though.

I finally wrote and submitted two this morning. Nothing major. Probably won't get paid for, but oh well. I've been working on another one about GSE, but it's slow going -- I'm having a hard time keeping the research straight. Stupid mommy brain!

I'd like to do some real research pieces, something out of my usual realm. I sort of did with my MD housing market piece, and that was hard for me to write. I'd like to stretch my writing skills a bit, because I know I can do it, you know?

Also, I have changed my name. When I signed up I didn't realize that my name/address would appear. So, I changed them a week later, with no problems. It even changed my URL. I just did it right on my update CP page. However, now I think I might go back to using my full name--I do when I use the pictures I've taken, so it seems silly to just have my initial now!

You can use a pen name but when you sign up make sure you put your real information in there; it's private, and they need it to pay you and all. )

DH is baaa'ing at newborn DS :/ My boys are so weird...

question- do you submit to AC and give them the rights or do you withhold the right to publish your content elsewhere. i noticed that was an option.

I am not withholding any rights, but then again I am only posting work that I have no intention of publishing elsewhere. I understand you get higher payment if you give them exclusive rights to it.
I was giving exclusive rights until this weekend, because, like Jenny, I figured I was not planning to publish anything anywhere else. However, there has been extensive discussion on their forum about this lately, and a few articles published, about how people feel that AC doesn't actually offer higher for exclusive vs. non-exclusive. And, even if they did, some comments on the fact that the extra dollar might not be worth it.

So, I have just done a few as non-exclusive to see what I think. If the offers aren't substantially lower than what I've been getting, I may go this route in the future. Even if I don't plan on publishing elsewhere, it still might be nice to be able to one day (at least so I don't have to worry about plagiarizing myself!).

Has anyone else received below average offers lately? :/

I received my first offer for under $4. : It was a product review but still...

Would it be possible for all of us to state our username at AC? I don' t know whose who in some cases, or if I have subbed to all of you yet.

I am Jennifer White.
